BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Adiyana Slamet was selected as Head of Alumni Association (Ikatan Alumni, IKA) of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Pasundan.
The selection was carried out at the event of Unpas Gathering and Discussion (Silaturahmi dan Musyawarah) of IKA FISIP Unpas for 2022-2027 Service Period at the Hall of Suradireja, Unpas Campus I, Jalan Lengkong Besar No. 68, Bandung, on Saturday, 19 February 2022.
The event raised the theme “Menjadikan IKA FISIP Unpas sebagai Episentrum Kolaborasi, Aksi, and Pengembangan Potensi Alumni yang Nyunda, Nyantri, Nyakola”.
Adiyana, who are as well West Java Head of Local Indonesian Broadcast Commission (Ketua Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia Daerah, KPID), become the solo candidate. The selection process to the determination has been well-carried out based on the mechanism set by the committee.
“Since it is still in Covid-19 pandemic, the entire processes were all informed through social media, but the selection and candidates’ determination is monitored and witnessed by representatives of the study programs,” he said.
Adiyana said that joining in Unpas FISIP IKA is a form of alumni’s pride for its alma mater. He considered that alumni should participate in advancing the big name of FISIP Unpas.
In the near future, Adiyana will carry out internal consolidation and re-list the alumni who are currently still active
“I am asked to inform that Unpas FISIP IKA has been formed, so that it can immediately carry out service, development and synergize with various parties to establish better regulations successfully,” he said.
Adiyana also emphasized that Unpas FISIP IKA is not just a media to accommodate alumni, but also helps implement University Tri Dharma and MBKM program.
“Internal consolidation is none other than to support University Tri Dharma and MBKM program’s needs, therefore, it will also show that Unpas FISIP has already been developed because of its alumni’s dedication,” Adiyana explained.
On the other hand, Head of Unpas IKA Subur Dwiono highly appreciated this event which has become the pioneer of election within faculty level.
He wished that whoever becomes the Head of IKA, both in faculty and university level, should be able to embrace the alumni and develop the programs which can raise the alma mater.
“I need to give more advises to the organizers; to be role model, be strong-witted and be in the good public position to make the alma mater proud. The thing is, they need to have their preparations ready and willingly have struggle and sacrifice,” he said.
Dean of Unpas FISIP, Dr. M. Budiana, S.IP., M.Si also added that after the management has been established, it is expected to have been partnering with faculty, especially in the context of MBKM program.
Formally, in each accreditation process, alumni’s presence is really needed, especially for tracer study purpose.
“Tracer study must be measured. Its measurement tool is alumni’s participation in establishing the nation represented by IKA. They also become the role model for their junior at campus, for doing tutor or forming a discussion forum,” he confirmed.
Meanwhile, Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si revealed that IKA’s performance in the university will become a necessity as well as forum for communication between graduates.
“This is my obligation to facilitate and monitor IKA’s activities by the time a new Head of IKA is selected. I am proud to be centre and collaboration connector between alumni and campus,” he said.
He thought that alumni and campus should remain to hold this collaboration. IKA also had its participation to provide information related to forming career development. Even more, tracer study is now becoming the important part/point to gain alumni’s feedbacks.
“The settlement of Unpas FISIP IKA election/chairman is the series of further process in the level of Korda and its peak is on this election. This must be interpreted as an effort to present a solid, strong IKA, as well as a strategic partner in managing/organizing the campus,” he concluded. (Reta)*
