BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Recently, Attorney General, ST Burhanuddin officially appointed Sunarta as Deputy Attorney General to replace Setia Untung Arimuladi who had entered his retirement.
Sunarta is an alumnus of the Doctor of Law Studies Department from Universitas Pasundan, who was also trusted by the President Joko Widodo to fill the position of Deputy Attorney General. Previously, Sunarta served as Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jaksa Agung Muda Intelijen, Jamintel).
Besides Sunarta, ST Burhanuddin also appointed a new Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jaksa Agung Muda Tindak Pidana Khusus, Jampidsus), and Deputy Attorney General for Supervision (Jaksa Agung Muda Pengawasan, Jamwas).
At the inauguration ceremony held on Monday, 10 January 2022, ST Burhanuddin asked Sunarta to take and participate in an active role in formulating a policy strategy for the implementation of the task of fostering, developing, and strengthening the organization of the Attorney General’s Office (Kejaksaan Agung, Kejagung).
“You are chosen for your achievements, dedication and loyalty. This is all through very mature and objective thinking by paying attention to various aspects. For that, while carrying out duties and responsibilities, you should provide benefits to the nation and maintain the dignity of the institution,” Burhanuddin hoped.
Reporting from the website kejaksaan.go.id, the Deputy Attorney General will occupy the position of team leader on several strategic policies of the prosecutor’s office. It is noted that there are four sectors that place Sunarta as the holder of the baton in the Adhyaksa Corps.
These sectors are Committee Head of Technology, Information and Communication for Indonesian Office of Attorney General, Team Head of Data Steering Team (Ketua Tim Pengarah Satu Data Kejaksaan), Head of Special Team for Combating Allegations of Serious Human Rights Violations (Ketua Tim Khusus Penuntasan Dugagn Pelanggraan HAM Berat), and Head of Steering Committee for Bureaucratic Reform of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office (Ketua Tim Pengarah Reformasi Birokrasi Kejaksaan RI).
“As team leader, I hope you could finish the job well. I emphasize that the performance of the prosecutor’s office will run quickly, effectively and efficiently,” he said.
ST Burhanuddin hopes that Sunarta could unify the scattered data at Kejagung to be integrated in each work unit.
“If there are data and applications scattered in various fields and work units, please put them together and integrate them neatly,” he said.
In his journey, Sunarta has several times worked as Head of the District Attorney’s Office (Kejaksaan Negeri) and Head of the High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejaksaan Tinggi, Kajati) in number areas, such as Kajari Padang Panjan, Kajari Banyuwangi, Kajari Palembang, Kajati NTT and Kajati East Java.
In addition, Sunarta also briefly held other strategic positions at Kejagung, namely as Head of Sub-Directorate of Jamintel, Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum), and lastly, Jamintel. (Reta)*
