BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – To accommodate a place for living for new students, Universitas Pasundan has flats for students (Rumah Susun Sederhana Sewa (Rusunawa)) called Asrama Putri Hj. Fatimah, a 4-floor flat specialized for female students, located in Unpas Campu IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudi No. 193, Bandung.
Unpas Rusunawa is the first flat for student in West Java and officially opened in December 2010. With the amount of 96 rooms, Unpas Rusunawa is able to accommodate up to 192 students.
Head of General Administration Bureau, Drs. H. Wawan Satriawan said that the Rusunawa has quite complete facilities with affordable rental fees per year. This is carried out in order to provide a best service for student.
“General facilities in the Rusunawa is quite complete. It includes a common room, surveillance camera (CCTV), prayer room, cafeteria and (before Covid-19 spread around), Pasundan Mart,” he said at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi, Bandung, on Friday (March 26th, 2021).
Each room can only be occupied by two persons and has been provided with a mattress, wardrobe, desk and chair for studying. There are 6 to 9 bathrooms on each floor equipped with warm-to-hot-water shower.
Not only equipped with complete facility, the annual rental fee at Unpas Rusunawa is way much cheaper compared to another dormitory houses around campus.
“The rental fee is about IDR 4,6 million. One room can only be occupied by two persons; the total fee is IDR 9,2 million. It is very affordable; water and electricity bill are also already included,” he added.
For security reasons, Unpas Rusunawa is always guarded by female security and a curfew is enforced at a maximum of 21.00 WIB. In addition, the campus entrance gate is also closely guarded by security officers.
“Rusunawa is located around campus, so there are always security officers helping to secure the flats. Its cleanliness and lights are also always paid attention to. That is the main excellence to attract students and their parents to rent the flat,” he explained.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, there is currently no students staying in the flat. Therefore, its supporting facilities, such as WiFi, laundry service and Pasundan Mart had to be closed first.
Even though it is located in Unpas Campus IV, in normal condition, Unpas Rusunawa is mostly occupied by students from Campus I Lengkong and Campus II Tamansari. In fact, the entire room are often occupied with students.
“Because of the location, the tenant students are majorly from Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Arts and Literature. However, there are also many students from Campus I Lengkong and Campus II Tamansari,” he said.
So far, Unpas Rusunawa is only intended for new female students and there is no plan to build another flats.
“By building the Rusunawa, we wish it could make it much easier for students to find for a place to stay. Up until now, we keep improving the facilities which can support student’s studying activity,” he ended. (Reta Amaliyah S)*
