BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Another achievement in the midst of pandemic was again dedicated by Universitas Pasundan students. This time, team ‘Sun Tech’ owned by students of Informatics Engineering Department successfully obtained the national champion for Business Model Canvas (BMC) Competition in Universitas Syiah Kuala, Aceh.
This national competition brought the theme ‘Menciptakan Usaha Milenial Kreatif Melalui Metode BMC’. The team, consisting of Reyhan Rasyid Zidan, Drajat Cahya Diningrat and Kasyfi Adhadini, should compete to the other 107 groups of 60 universities.
BMC is a framework which discusses on business model in the form of sketch, so it can be more understandable. It must consist 9 fundamental elements of business called blok. Since it is in the form of framework, BMC looked like an outline at first glance, but the discussion is comprehensive.
The nine elements consist of consumer segmentation, consumer value proportion, marketing facility, income source, resource, consumer interaction/relation, conducted activity, partners and structure of business finance.
“Other than submitting the BMC poster, we were also asked to make a handout paper consisting the detail of BMC. In addition, the product we have proposed are Augmented Reality (AR) Hardware Learning,” explained one of the members of Sun Tech, Reyhan Rasyid Zidan.
AR Hardware Learning is an application providing service to learn on hardware from various type of devices, such as smartphone, PC and laptop, in a form of augmented reality.
“We take an example: someone wishing to learn the hardware used in Lenove Legion Y530-series. The AR technology will combine the digital content created by computer with the actual condition in real-time. Later, this application will show every hardware used, as well as its advantage and disadvantages,” he continued.
Reyhan also explained that the activity attached in the AR Hardware Learning is divided into two types, namely free access for learning (free and limited access) and payment for learning (pre-paid and free access).
Although it is also in the middle of busyness and limited preparation, the results obtained were beyond expectations. Sun Tech team made most of their time while carrying out MBKM activities, taking class and working on the projects.
“We registered near the deadline, since we needed to make an opening video for the presentation itself, 3D modelling of one of the laptops as an overview for the judges, as well as the application prototype itself. Alhamdulillah, AR Hardware Learning brought us to top 57, proceeded to the final round which left 10 teams,” he said.
While doing presentation in the final round, Sun Tech Team emphasized full on the product description by showing video, picture and explanation as detail as possible in order to help the audience understand the built application as well as its marketing opportunity.
“Later, we wish we could be able to give ourselves chance to be improved, not only from the competition, but also from any activity. One time, we would like to make our own original product; and if it happens, we hope we could make Unpas proud,” he concluded. (Reta)*
