BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Covid-19 pandemic has forced businessmen in coffee industry to adjust their business patterns to keep them survive.
This condition certainly affects the rate of coffee production, one of which is what happened in Moch’s KopiMU, owned by Moch. Aditia Gunawan. The café is located in Desa Cibeureum, Kertasari District, Bandung District.
This fostered partner of Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) Universitas Pasundan manages the coffee business, from early stage. Covid-19 Pandemic which has hit the world in the last two years has given a major impact on business capacity, such as decreased sales and business enthusiasm, postponed production and distribution, as well as capital difficulties.
Seeing such conditions, teacher in department, Dr. Dindin Abdurohim BS and M. Fikri Maulana, MBA offer solutions through the application of science and technology which is divided into two stages.
“The first stage is through entrepreneurial capacity improvement and pulper machine provision to grind the coffee beans,” explained Dindin, on Tuesday, 8 March 2022.
Dindin continued that the second stage would be by involving students, which has been started since the beginning of March 2022.
Science and technology innovation implemented on this is the improvement of digital marketing capacity and provision for production equipment of coffee beans and coffee roast. In addition, it also provides facilities market access, both for coffee beans and powdered-coffee in a package.
“We see that there are business opportunities which can be used for taking further elaborations between fostered partner and Unpas students in the system of product manufacturing. The implementation of science and technology include training, technical meeting, tutoring and facility provision which have been planned for 3 months, until June 2022,”
The specific purpose of this program is none other than to implement technology and information, as well as digital marketing content in every business activity, as what is demanded by the market and as a step to improve partner’s business.
Dindin, along with the other team involved, hoped that this community service, through implementation of science and technology funded Unpas FISIP could be useful for developing kopiMU, as its partner.
“We hope it could increase partner’s product competitiveness as the main product from Bandung Regency and give effect economically, socially, and other sector in Desa Cibeureum, especially,” he concluded.
