BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif, Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno keeps encouraging the regional government to spread the promotion and development of tourism village in each area.
Tourism villages are said to be the symbol of national economy improvement. However, there are still a lot of areas which have not been able to develop its own potential due to few basic factors. These areas include Kabupaten Bandung.
Based on the problems, Team of Community Service Program of Communication Studies Department Universitas Pasundan held the Training of Bumdes Capacity Building through Digital Marketing in the Development of Sehati Tourism Destination (Pelatihan Peningkatan Kapasitas Bumdes Melalui Digital Marketing dalam Pengembangan Wisata Alam Sehati) in Nagrog Village, Cicalengka Sub-district, Bandung District.
“The community service is to help implement University Tri Dharma as well as help the partners in improving the skills of developing the potential owned by Sehati Tourism as superior destination,” said the Team Head of PKM of Unpas Communication Studies Department, Yusuf Hartawan, S.Sos., M.Ikom, on Monday, 13 September 2021.
The result of PKM showed that the promotion carried out by Bumdes Sumber Sejahtera Nagrog has not been optimal yet; therefore, the introduction of digital marketing was considered necessary to expand and elaborate the potential of Sehati Tourism Destination.
“Members of Bumdes Sumber Sejahtera Nagrog lacked of understanding the tourism promotion through social media, especially when it comes to the platform of digital marketing. In additional, there were specific teams that are in charge on promoting the destination,” he continued.
Bumdes also found some problems with the collaboration permission with private party in developing the location due to the Regional Regulation No 7/2013 (Perda Nomor 7 Tahun 2013) concerning the Maintenance of Regional Tourism by Local Government (Pengelolaan Kepariwisataan Daerah oleh Pemerintah Setempat).
“Based on the problem identification on partners, the team has provided solution by doing few briefings and promotion training through social media by using the platform of digital marketing,” he explained.
According to the training, participants began to understand how the form of digital marketing-based promotion is. Later, the team of PKM will guide and assist the content creator, as well as form a special team for the promotion of the tourism destination.
“Participants are able to create the promotion content by doing timeline strategy per week and per month, arranging the analysis of visitor traffic for the content itself and holding the routine event in the social media,” he said.
He also continued that Wisata Alam Sehati could be improved well by using the forming of special team for promotion consisting of two people; even more, it is also assisted by the Team of PKM of Unpas Communication Studies Department in maintaining the social media, both online and offline.
To further spur and trigger the development of tourist villages, the PKM Ilkom FISIP Unpas Team emphasizes that Bumdes members always innovate and are active in creating promotional content on social media.
“After it [the promotion team] was formed, it needs to be productive. They also need to do other different activities to spot the promotion,” he concluded. (Reta)*
