BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – As student association engaged in the social and humanitarian field, Unpas PMI Volunteer Corps is always ready and prepared to help others. Under the direction of Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Sc., KSR PMI focuses on improving the quality of members based on the basic principles of the Red Cross.
“We are guided by the seven basic principles of the international red cross and red crescent movement, which are to always prioritize humanity, equality, neutrality, independence, volunteerism, unity and universality,” said the Commander of Unpas KSR PMI, Widia Ayu Rizkia on Monday (June 28th, 2021).
Although it is still in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, Unpas KSR is still actively volunteering its members to the ground of disaster and doing their coordination with the Central PMI. Besides that, providing blood supply and doing fund charity if there are urgent needs.
“During pandemic, donor activities and other programs which are potential to involve crowds will be limited. However, we still put our tries to help people who are in need of blood donor to personally find for a donor for them,” she said.
Working together with West Java PMI, Unpas KSR is also participating actively in Pasar Peduli Covid-19 and distributing information about the importance of applying health protocol. Putting and bringing the hashtag #KitaHadapiBersama, Unpas KSR committed to fight against Covid-19.
Unpas KSR also involves in the program of Prevention, Eradication, Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (Pencegahan, Pemberantasan, Penyalahgunaan, dan Peredaran Gelap Narkotika, P4GN). In this case, Unpas KSR collaborates with West Java Artipena and takes part at the socialization of drugs danger.
“We actively take part in the program War on Drugs initiated by BNN and West Java Artipena to prevent the danger of drugs not to spread to the campus,” she continued.
Currently, productivity development and member capacity are mostly carried out online, such as providing material for red cross, leadership, first aid, caring for others, health, and disaster preparedness.
As the actual support and act in fighting Covid-19 at campus, Unpas KSR continues to make their life healthy and clean as habit to its members, one of which is by routinely spraying disinfectant around the secretariat.
“This is our effort to prevent Covid-19 [virus disease] spread within our environment and support the campus as well. We are now focusing only in KSR office, but will later participate in spraying the disinfectant around the campus,” she ended. (Reta)*
