BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Medical Education-major Department, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Pasundan underwent desk evaluation along with Indonesian Council for Medicine through Zoom tele-conference meeting on Thursday, 2 December 2021.
KKI Desk Evaluation is intended to evaluate the implementation of Medical Education-major Department in the Faculty of Medicine Unpas since it has been established in 2019. In the course process, Unpas Faculty of Medicine, as the ‘youngest’ faculty, has been keeping to improve the facility and quality of service for students.
The evaluation program is in line with the purpose of KKI, namely to protect the society as recipient for health service, on of which is by ensuring the department to be able to give-birth to competent and professional doctors.
The program was also attended by Vice Rector II Dr. Ir. Yudi Garnida, MP who was appointed to represent the Rector, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Dedi Rachmadi, dr., Sp.A(K)., M.Kes, Vice Dean I dr. Ike Rostikawati Husen, M.Kes, Vice Dean II dr. Alma Lucyati, M.Kes., M.Si., MH.Kes, Vice Dean III dr. Trias Nugrahadi, Sp.KN(K), Head of Assurance Control, Medical Education Unit, Task Force Unit and other structural staffs.
In his speech, Head of KKI, dr. Putu Moda Arsana, Sp.PD-KEMD., FINASIM stated that KKI would help overview the learning process and other important instruments which have been carried out in the Faculty, by referring to the National Standard of Medical Education (Standar Nasional Pendidikan Kedokteran, SNPK).
“SNPK is the reference from Ditjen Dikti used for overview the implementation process of Medical Department in the university. By doing this, we could find out what the disadvantages are, as well as the correction itself. This is to make the faculty be able to give-birth to the competent prospective doctors,” he explained.
He thought that the organizer of medical education, specialist and sub-specialist, including Unpas Faculty of Medicine, are now faced with era of 4.0 industrial revolution which create the global disruption condition.
“The change of global order demands medical university to give-birth to prospective doctors who are able to compete for facing the 4.0 industrial revolution, as well as Economic Community (Masyarakat Ekonomi) ASEAN. Therefore, the SNPK-based evaluation necessarily needs to be conducted by KKI,” he continued.
Agenda was continued by the presentation of department profile by Head of Department of Medical Education-major, Dr. Rer. Nat Afiat Berbudi, dr. M.Kes. He explained about department’s vision and mission, excellences, way of development, program plan, learning process implementation, educational tools, facility and infrastructure, implementation of University Tri Dharma, as well as curriculum.
One of the focuses of discussion is the collaboration of both Islamic and Sundanese value, as well as the faculty’s participation in the aspect of public health. Islamic and Sundanese values are not only a vision; both of them are actualized on the cases in the courses, so they would be able to create prospective doctors which are adjusted to the faculty’s vision.
Member of Educational Division for Medical Council, dr. Mariatul Fadilah, MARS, Ph.D stated that the proposal submitted by the faculty is considered proper, especially in Islamic aspect and Sundenese culture. However, there are few notes which should be paid attention for correction.
“We are waiting for the contribution of Unpas Faculty of Medicine, since Indonesia is at urgency-state of needing the doctors due to the growing population and increasing health issues. We are waiting for Unpas Faculty of Medicine’s vision and mission, as well as its excellences, in developing preventive and promotive effort for public health. KKI will keep providing support,” he explained
Lastly, Unpas Vice Rector II, Dr. Ir. Yudi Garnida, MP said both Rector’s staffs and the faculty will accept and implement the suggestion and feedback from the assessors kindly.
“It is an honour for us to welcome KKI. We always fully support and tries as best as we could for the development of Faculty of Medicine. We are now preparing for the hospital to build, for educational purpose. We committed to fulfil the facilities required by the faculty. Thank you for your suggestion.
