BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic hit globally, Universitas Pasundan took a policy to empty Hj. Fatimah Girl’s Dormitory to anticipate the emergence of cluster within campus environment.
Adjustting to the latest update of Covid-19 and level decrease of PPKM in Bandung, Unpas decided to re-open the dormitory by applying strict rules; bed’s capacity is only for 50% and each room is allowed for 1 person.
This dormitory re-opening also referred to the Rector’s Circular Letter regarding the Adjustment of Limited Face-to-Face Course Class (Penyesuaian Penyelenggaraan Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas) in Odd Semester 2021/2022 Academic Year issued in 11 October 2021.
“Residents must have been vaccinated and provide Covid-19 vaccination certificate, except for Covid-19 survivors and those with comorbidities,” explained Unpas Vice Rector II, Dr. Ir. Yudi Garnida, M.P on Thursday, 21 October 2021.
He also continued that the dormitory is not for new student only, but also for student of class-of-2019 and final-year students who are currently working on their final research at the laboratory. Final-year student is not allowed to rent the dorm monthly or per academic year.
Considering the pandemic condition, residents are urged to keep social distance and limit the interaction to each other. Activities leading to gathering crowds are temporarily restricted.
“On normal condition, the dormitory can accommodate up to 192 persons. Since it is limited, the it is only able to accommodate 96 persons. If someone wants to extend the lease and the room was previously occupied by two, we will separate it first,” he continued.
Caretaker of Girl’s Dormitory Hj. Fatimah, Kiki Nurzakiah, S.Sos said that other than providing Covid-19 vaccination certificate, the residents are also asked to fulfil their medical record and parents’ approval.
“For final-year students who are currently working on final assignment, they are required to the fill the temporary-living statement letter, while the class-of-2019 student who has already paid the rent (but it is restricted due to Covid-19), they need to fill out an application for an extension of the rent,” she explained.
Today, the number of registrants listed in the form is estimated to 30%, including 4 new students. She emphasized that the residents must comply with applicable rules and regulations.
“Residents are prohibited from depositing or duplicating room keys, as well as receiving male guests. Guests, both families and friends, are also not allowed to stay, but they can meet at the main lobby, according to the specified visiting hours,” she continued.
Occupants are also not allowed to bring valuable stuffs and use high-voltage electrical equipment. To ensure safety and cleanliness, the dormitory is guarded by female security and regularly cleaned by the officers.
Other than obeying strictly the health protocol and adaptation during pandemic, occupants are required to behave well and not commit the acts that violates the ethics, religious norms and norms of decency. (Reta)*
