BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – For the second time since having been established in 1960, Universitas Pasundan holds the Campus Introduction Program (Program Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru, PKKMB) online via Zoom Meeting and offline at The Trans Luxury Hotel, Bandung, on Saturday, 2 October 2021.
Unpas welcomes its 3.645 new students listed and spread in its 7 faculties and Master Program. These number include 3 Poland and Malaysian students, as well as 19 student recipients of Kartu Indonesia Pelajar Kuliah (KIP-K).
Bringing the theme of ‘Akselerasi Kebangkitan di Masa Pandemi’, Unpas’ new students are expected to be able to rise and take participation in accelerating the Covid-19 pandemic recovery: not only from the aspect of education, but also economy, health and other dimension being the basic foundation of improving nation’s quality.
The series of PKKMB was started by the Open Senate Session ceremony, greeting from the Senate leaders, new students’ inauguration, Unpas’ overview-description talk show and socialization program from Students’ Activity Unit (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa, UKM).
“Other than the ceremony and new students’ inauguration, Unpas PKKMB will also carry out a Green Entrepreneurship webinar and nation’s defence webinar. Furthermore, other webinars containing the program to build the vaccination awareness, as well as humanity service and provide assistance to those who are affected to Covid-19 pandemic,” explained the Head of 2021 Unpas PKKMB Committee, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si on his statement.
In his speech, Unpas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU confirmed that PKKMB is the beginning of a whole learning process in the university. New students are required to be able to take advantage of time and look for factors which support the learning process itself.
“This year’s PKKMB is different from previous years. For those teachers and senior students joined in student institution/association, both in department, faculty and UKM, please guide these juniors to get to know more about campus even though it is still in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic,” he stated.
According to the Statement Letter from Ditjen Dikti, the Rector also mentioned about the limited Face-to-Face Learning Process (Pembelajaran Tatap Muka, PTM) which is planned to start in Mid-October 2021.
Activities consisted to the category of limited PTM include Final Assignment Trial Test (Sidang Akhir) of both Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree, laboratory and studio practice with a capacity of 50%, re-opening Girl’s Dormitory Hj. Fatimah and many more, adjusted to the current development and need.
“Insya Allah, limited PTM within Unpas will be held, starting from 15 October 2021. For Final Assignment Trial Test, we still provide online service for those who ask. Moreover, for other activity, we still follow the update based on each area’s current level of Covid-19,” he continued.
In his acting, on behalf of Head of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java-Banten Ir. Dharnita Candra, M.Si stated that PKKMB could be the starting point for fostering idealism, strengthening nationalism, and caring for the environment in order to create a rich-charactered, religious, nationalist, independent and integrated generation.
“Through PKKMB, new students are provided by brief training to be able to do the Tri Dharma University. PKKMB is also the event to raise awareness of the importance of understanding globalization and the 4.0 Industrial Revolution,” he said.
According to the Head of Pasundan Foundation of Higher Education (Yayasan Pendidikan Tinggi Pasundan, YPT Pasundan), Dr. H. Makbul Mansyur, M.Si, the key success to deal with studying at the college is to create strong intention, confident, diligent, tenacious and self-surrendered. Paguyuban Pasundan, as the supervisor of Unpas, continues to improve and strive to provide best service for students, especially when it is associated with human resources and infrastructure.
Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si also urged the new students to face the challenge and help the department get international accreditation, be the best graduates who are able to compete globally; whose works get an world-class achievement.
“Joining Unpas and its community/academic civitas mean to be the best. As the youngest member of the community, be a strong and true learner, prepare and testify yourself, create as many job opportunities as possible; even they are only for yourselves,” he concluded. (Reta)*
