BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – In last April 2021, seven study programs in Universitas Pasundan received the assistance program for the Second Batch Curriculum Collaboration and Implementation of Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (Kerja Sama Kurikulum dan Implementasi Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka, KSKI MBKM) from Kemendikbudristek.
KSKI MBKM is a scheme targeted for the university to compete and submit its proposal by collaborating with other universities or business and work industry (industry dunia usaha dan dunia kerja, iduka).
Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, SE., M.Si., stated that KSKI MBKM becomes the important part for the university in implementing the Permendikbud No. 3/2020 concerning students’ three-semester learning rights outside their department/study program. Each university is allowed to submit the proposal for maximum 10 departments/study programs.
“Unpas apply to two schemes: the first and the advanced ones. In the first step, about 9 departments/study programs have passed it and became the pilot class. Meanwhile in the advanced step, there were 7 departments/study program that passed it; namely Visual Communication Design, International Relationship, Public Administration, Biology Education, Urban Planning, English Literature and Informatics Engineering,” he stated on Saturday, 9 October 2021.
KSKI MBKM encouraged university to accelerate the accomplishment of 8 Key Performance Indicator (Indikator Kerja Utama, IKU). Through IKU, university is required to be faster in providing various competences need in business and work industry.
“MBKM Curriculum should be designed in such a way that students can enjoy the option for studying in other universities or outside their study program consisting of eight forms of learning activities,” he continued.
The activities written on Permendikbud No. 3/2020 Article 15 Paragraph 1 consisted student exchange program, internship/work practice, learning assistance in educational unit, research, humanity project, entrepreneurship activity, independent study/project and thematic field work.
“These activities can be converted to the credit equal to one semester. This should be based on the curriculum which was arranged previously as the guidelines of learning implementation. Unpas has also had its guideline on Outcomes Based Education (OBE)-based KKNI curriculum and considered the MBKM program,” he explained.
Currently, the Second Batch KSKI MBKM Program has almost finished. Unpas is now doing its monitoring and evaluation so that the report preparation is in accordance with the regulation set by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
“Since KSKI MBKM is a stimulus program, the university, faculty and study programs will be asked to implement it on an ongoing basis. The government only takes its role to encourage institutions to collaborate with each other. It is because there will be no innovation and creativity without cooperation,” he concluded.
