BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – The huge music event, October Campus (Octopus) made Pasundan Radio is back. Octopus is part of Pasundan Radio’s off-air broadcast program, namely Indie Corner which has been held since 2012.
At this 9th event, Octopus carries the theme “iGENeration” or Generation Z which is the successor to the millennial generation. Generation Z is considered more proficient and adaptive in using technology, including using social media to produce creative works.
During pandemic, Generation Z is increasingly using social media as the medium of expression, education, promotion, information and even self-image portraying. Each generation has its own characteristics and this is what is stuck in young people in the circle of Generation Z.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pasundan Radio, Melinia Indah Mutia Sari said that this year, Octopus is still being held virtually and broadcast on Pasundan Radio YouTube channel, in 10 December 2021 at 18.30 WIB.
“Even though it’s virtual, Octopus presents a variety of interesting programs to entertain their loyal listeners of Pasundan Radio or what we call Sobat Kampus, so they can still watch concerts from home,” she said.
The pre-event series of Octopus will be presenting iGeneration talk-show along with the content creator, Coming Soon and Skepan, as well as voice over competition. At night, Octopus will also be presenting rock n’ roll band Erratic Moody, Febinda Tito and Sheila Anandara, as well as special performance by Vlavi and Good Actually.
“According to the them, all guest stars also represented Gen-Z, such as Febinda and Sheila who are also popular after being viral in TikTok. This portrayed that Gen-Z is really attached to social media to actualize/perform themselves,” he explained.
Octopus becomes the actual proof of unlimited manifestation and unfettered by pandemic situation. This annual event actually takes places and times every October, but it had to be postponed due to the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic.
“We hope Sobat Kampus would be very much entertained by this event from Pasundan Radio. Moreover, this event has a very Gen-Z feel, reflecting that they are creative and innovative, still working even though it is hindered by the pandemic. Hopefully Octopus iGENeration could inspire Gen-Z everywhere,” she concluded. (Reta)*
