BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Although it has still a week being appointed and approximately six months being inaugurated, Association of Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs in Higher Education (Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia Perguruan Tinggi, HIPMI PT) Universitas Pasundan has been aggressively conducting business activities.
In the inauguration at the Grand Hotel Preanger on 23 October 2021, Unpas HIPMI PT launched a product of Coffee Pasundan whose business idea successfully won the business plan competition, as a collaboration result between Bandung-branched HIPMI and Warung Kopi Limarasa.
Of 20 HIPMI PTs in Bandung which are also competing, the development plan of Coffee Pasundan Unpas HIPMI PT ranked the first, so it deserved to achieve the fund assistance in the form of coffee production.
“In the business plan, I, along with two members of Unpas HIPMI PT arranged the concepts as well as its marketing system. We officially announced it at the inauguratin. Alhamdulillah, about 50 cups of coffee was successfully sold,” said the Head of Unpas HIPMI PT, Irpan Muchamad Ghani, on Monday, 1 November 2021.
After being confirmed as the winner, Unpas HIPMI PT also obtained the benefit to attend the equipment use training and producing/brewing the drinks at Warung Kipi Limarasa. This training was held intensely for almost a week.
As a start-up business, the selling of Coffee Pasundan is still using online system, as well as taking advantages of the dorm-room transformed into a production area. However, Irpan said that he is currently developing an outlet concept with a working space system for the long-term sustainability of Coffee Pasundan.
“We rely on our members who are also leaders in student institutions, such as BEM or Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa, Hima) to participate in the promotion. So, whenever there are internal meetings, we usually serve them our product [of Coffee Pasundan]. We are always ready for production because there is a team on standby,” he continued.
As the approval of Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si, as the Coach of Student Affairs, Irfan plans to hold a hearing-session with the leader staffs in each faculties, as well as the central administrator in order to empower students’ product; as a form of support towards the business which is currently ran by Unpas HIPMI PT.
“So far, consumers are enthusiastically excited and many of them welcomed Coffee Pasundan greatly. The price for a cup of coffee is IDR 17.000. The price was set based on the survey done to several coffee shops and students,” added Irpan.
In order to focus on its maintenance, Coffee Pasundan is entrusted to the Food and Beverages Section, Unpas HIPMI PT Business Development Division. In the near future, Unpas HIPMI PT will also open a street-food stall around West Java Monument of Perjuangan Rakyat, Jalan Dipati Ukur, Bandung.
If it goes as it planned, Coffee Pasundan will be opened next to this stall. However, it is only opened temporarily, while looking for other locations heating up its concept. The food stall management will later be competed to Unpas HIPMI PT members.
“Coffee business and street-food stall are already hyped in Bandung. However, it is the well-known name of Unpas and Paguyuban Pasundan which encourage our spirit to compete and develop. I am sure, this step would be the branding ‘bridge’ for Unpas HIPMI PT members,” he concluded. (Reta)*
