BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – On Saturday, 13 November 2021, Rector of Universitas Pasundan, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU officially inaugurated 674 graduates of Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Program at the Hall of Mandala Saba Otto Iskandar Dinata, Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193, Bandung.
Unpas has its graduates prepared with proper and qualified knowledge to be able to prove their existence nationally and internationally; especially when university has become the key to face the demography bonus which is predicted to happen in next 2030.
Demography bonus is potential of economic growth formed as the effect of structure change of people’s age. The proportion of the productive age population will be greater than the unproductive age population.
The Rector thought, demography bonus will be more effective if it is balanced with the qualified learning system. Alumni of Unpas will help fill the role of productivity and support/ encourage Indonesia to reach the demography bonus.
“Graduation is not the end of learning activity, because basically humans were created as learners. This is the starting point of improving self-quality and fulfilling it in 2030 and 2040,” he said.
The Rector has had himself pretty optimistic, that in the next 9 years, graduates that are being inaugurated this day could take participation as qualified employee in the society while getting into their peak of productivity. Therefore, Indonesia could also compete to the other developed countries.
“I think, in fact, developed countries will lose their productive generation because they do not prepare for it. Unpas as a higher education institution is committed to preparing young skilled people,” he continued.
General Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si sent his gratitude; since it is in the midst of pandemic, Unpas should still hold the graduation procession, even if it need to apply strict health protocol.
“Unpas has successfully created its best alumni with outstanding achievements shown by their own grades. Unpas has itself proved that it is common and deserves to be the excellent university for people in West Java and Indonesia,” he concluded. (Reta)*
