BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – In order to actualize the mission to develop Islamic Syiar and keep updated to technology, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Pasundan planned to open two new study programs.
Dean of Unpas FEB Dr. Atang Hermwan, MSIE., Ak. Stated that the current study programs being prepared are Finance and Sharia Banking (Keuangan dan Perbankan Syariah) and E-Commerce. The selection of these study programs is adjusted to public’s needs as well as economic condition and technology advances.
“Department of Finance and Sharia Banking is the Faculty’s commitment and actual form of its dedication in implementing the mission, namely to keep, maintain and develop Islamic Syiar. While for Department of E-Commerce; we thought that technology is unavoidable, while human should need to be empowered as its main function,” he said at Unpas Campus II, Jalan Tamansari No. 6-8, Bandung, on Wednesday, 5 May 2021.
Although both of the departments are relevant to public’s need, the opening of the study program need to consider its priority scale. Currently, there is only Department of Finance and Sharia Banking whose proposal is ready to be submitted to the Rector of Unpas, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M. Kom., IPU.
“I have already made the proposal for Department of Finance and Sharia Banking, we still need to submit it to the University’s leader. We have not prepared the proposal for E-Commerce yet, but we are currently working on it. We need to analyse the need of making new departments, we cannot let it go too quick and get it mistaken in the end,” the Dean added.
However, the proposal for Department of E-Commerce will also soon be written down, considering the fact that most retail trading transaction have been using e-commerce. In the near futurd, the department will learn on application and web business architecture, marketing research, digital marketing and social media, digital marketing strategy and many more.
“E-Commerce is closely associated to technology. The opening of E-Commerce is expected to be able to educate people about technology and provide service for them who are willing to get to know more about electronic business,” he said.
If it is approved and finds no obstacles, Department of Finance and Sharia Banking will be released next year and E-Commerce will be followed up as soon as possible,” he concluded. (Reta Amaliyah S)*
