BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Still in the series of program of 2022 Bulan Suci Berbagi on the Street (BUBOS), IIKU of Faculty of Medicine joins collaboration with Unpas Faculty of Medicine and holds social service in Griya Lansia, West Java Social Office, on Saturday, 16 April 2022.
Unpas Faculty of Medicine Vice Dean III, dr. Trias Nugrahadi, Sp.KN(K) stated that this program involves all teachers, academic staffs and students of Unpas Faculty of Medicine.
The program includes health counselling and medical check-up, medical prescription, as well as educational program for the elders and people with mental disorder (orang dengan gangguan jiwa, ODGJ).
“Two days before the program takes place, on Thursday, 14 April 2022, we also gave them takjil, food for breaking the fast, as well as money donation (uang kadeudeuh),” he said.
Griya Lansia, located in Ciparay Sub-District, Bandung District, is the largest nursing home in West Java. Many elder people whose health conditions are apprehensive need to be treated well and need a counselling.
“Social department of elder people becomes one of the largest infectious places. Usually, the infection attacks to their skin. We need to analyse the pattern of spread of infection, as well as observe their health condition,” he said.
Based on the counselling and analysis result, the pattern of spread of skin disease infections is quite large because it is influenced by limited facilities, human resources, and poor hygiene.
Aside from being a place for sharing, social services to Griya Lansia also train students to apply the medical knowledge they have gained during college, as well as to increase their concern for others. (Reta)*
