BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Covid-19 pandemic is not an obstacle that limits students’ creative instincts and productivity. The proof is that the Student Art Community (Lingkung Seni Mahasiswa, Lisma) of Universitas Pasundan continues to show its existence through the production of a short film entitled ‘Tak Terbaca’ which premiered on Lisma YouTube channel at the end of July 2021.
Lisma provided a visual artwork closely related to the daily life, brought the theme of teenagers’ problems as well as the way they solve their conflicts and problems. This film is a program of Lisma Movement Creativity (Limit) in the period of 2020/2021.
The precise angle-shot of camera and the totality of actors/actresses successfully moved the audiences’ emotion. Its storyline was packed well, supported by the audio and superior editing process. With the 17-minute duration, “Tak Terbaca” also successfully conveyed the inspirational moral message.
“Tak Terbaca” described two teenagers with different backgrounds, faced with life problems in the phase of self-maturation. The main characters are told to be friends with each other and attend the same high school. Dimas, played by Ramanda Reksa, is often the target of bullying, while Gita, played by Revita Amalia, isa a child of a broken-home family.
Egi Pratama, the film’s script writer, took 2 points of view of its conflict resolution represented by the conditions in the surrounding environment. A character vents the problem through drug abuse, while the other character chooses to face it and deal and make peace with the situation.
“In facing a problem, there are two options that can be taken: to deal with it and solve it or to do the shortcuts by disobeying the rule,” said Egi.
As it was reported before, Head of Lisma for the period of 2020/2021, Ziyan Khatami said that Lisma collaborated with National Narcotics Agency (Badan Narkotika Nasional, BNN) and Office for Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Planning (Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan Perlindungan Anak dan Keluarga Berencana, DP3AKB) West Java to direct the story ideas that are made so it will not go out of bounds.
Not only reminding the audience to think clearly in solving the problems, this film also shows us broad depiction of the danger of drugs and the importance of keeping the harmonious relationship with family.
Lisma has several times produced films, but most of all are parody and not the main project. It can be said that “Tak Terbaca” is the first short film Lisma produced and released seriously.
All crews involved in the production were members of Lisma. Although they have faced some problems, technically and non-technically, Lisma was able to give its best.
“We did adjust to the pandemic situation and condition, proved by this short film we have worked on. For all artists, do not make these limited condition and situation as the excuses to stop doing artwork,” Ziyan concluded. (Reta)*
