BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universities are forced to publish as many researches as possible, both multi-discipline and inter-discipline. It is necessary and important things to do for university which would want to be an entrepreneurial university, as well as to fulfil the need of the 4.0 industrial era.
Teachers are expected to be able to create innovation, as well as help solve problems within society and industry through research. The programs: Matching Fund and Kedaireka platform are present to open opportunities between universities and industry.
In 2022, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikburistek) even disbursed a Matching Fund worth 1.4 trillion rupiahs to support teacher’s research. These efforts are none other than to improve the research climate in universities and encourage the down-streaming of research, so that it can meet the needs of industry.
“Many research results in universities are difficult to reach the industrial realm. The Matching Fund and Kedaireka are here to connect them,” explained the Policy Analyst Expert of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Drs. Endang Taryono at the 2022 Matching Fund Socialization in Universitas Pasundan.
Although there have been researches aimed to obtain the product, most of the teachers still carry out basic research whose result cannot be used properly by the public.
“The Matching Fund [program] invites all university elements to increase applied research, so that they create real products needed by the Business and Industrial World (Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri, DUDI),” he said.
Increasing the down-streaming of research in universities will strengthen the national innovation ecosystem which plays a role in advancing Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global realm.
“Matching Fund and Kedaireka assistance programs motivate teachers to do applied research rather than basic research,” he concluded. (Reta)*
