BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – In March 23rd, 2021, Unpas’ first and oldest student community, Resimen Mahasiswa (Menwa) Mahawarman Kompi E celebrated its 42nd anniversary.
Along with this, Rector of Unpas, as well as West Java Commander of Menwa Mahawarman, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU congratulated and emphasized Menwa Unpas to continue to raise awareness in defending the nation in order to make it Indonesia Emas.
“Congratulation to Unpas Menwa Mahawarman Kompi E. It has been 42 years running seriously in a state-defense education since it was formed,” he said at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi, Bandung, on Thursday (March, 25th, 2021)
Referring to Law No. 23 of 2019 concerning Management of National Resources for State Defense as outlined in Government Regulation No. 3 of 2021 dated January 12, 2021, the Rector said that Menwa is one of the components of the nation that must realize the importance of defending the country.
“Forty-two is indeed a mature age. Therefore, in order to create Indonesia Emas, fostering awareness of state defense must continue to be kindled,” he added.
Law No. 23 of 2019, among other things, regulates the main components, reserve components, and supporting components that are part of national defense. The main component consists of the TNI and Polri, while the reserve component includes the community or trained citizens.
“Student regiment is a part of supporting components in defending the country, other than State Apparatus and other societies. I am sure, Unpas Menwa is able to defend this country because they have been through a lot of disciplinary training,” he added.
The Rector wishes that Unpas Menwa would keep improving themselves and consistently take effort to defend the country. He also emphasizes the equality to all student communities to actively invite other students to join Unpas student community.
“I hope Unpas Menwa Mahawarman Kompi E keep succeeding in defending the country. To the other student communities, I wish you could improve more and make recruitment for new members to actively join the community,” he ended. (Reta Amaliyah S)*
