BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Still in the 61st anniversary commemoration, Universitas Pasundan held a university election for outstanding students, which was held openly at the Hall of Unpas Campus II, Jalan Tamansari No. 6-8, Bandung, on Tuesday, 25 January 2022.
There were 8 students selected to attend the university-level election. All of them are representatives who previously passed the selection at faculty-level.
Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si said that the selection was held to choose the best candidates who are going to represent the university to the next LLDIKTI Region IV West Java-Banten-level outstanding students election. As for that, students were asked to present their scientific paper/writing consisting of innovation and new ideas, continued by English proficiency test and interviews about organizational activities.
Students’ scientific papers/ writing are reviewed by Unpas Department of Management teacher, Ardi Gunardi, SE., MM., who is also the editorial board and review at the international reputable journals. Meanwhile, English proficiency skills were tested by Unpas Department of English Literature teacher, Fegy Lestari, S.S., M.Pd.
“Students should be strong when it comes to general knowledge, since this election is related to the literacy insight and understanding. Students are also led to uphold the principle of think globally, act locally,” he explained.
Vice Rector III also stated that students are required to have a skill of speaking foreign language fluently as additional values, especially English. Even more, students who are sent to LLDIKTI IV-level election will be later competed to other students from other universities around West Java and Banten.
“English proficiency skill is important; the more language they are able to speak in, the better they are. It does not mean that it is not nationalist, but that is where we get strength from students who represent Unpas,” he said.
The LLDIKTI IV-level election will be probably held around April or May. To stabilize students’ quality and capability, there would be a mentoring program for writing scientific paper and English proficiency.
“We hope we would be the best and obtain the first place; since Unpas has only been able to obtain the Top 10. With this competitive selection, we hope we could send our students which can make Unpas proud in the level of province,” he hoped.
The eighth students who attended the election at university level are Valda Zahirra Sidqi (Law Studies), M. Ichsan Kamil Irawan (International Relations), Nurul Intan Krisnayanti (Communication Studies), Amisha Al Azis (Informatics Engineering), M.
