BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Department of Photography and Film, Faculty of Art and Literature (FISS) Universitas Pasundan welcomed the visit of comparative study form Department of Photography Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif (Polimedia) Jakarta to discuss about the development of MBKM curriculum. It took place at FISS Meeting Room, on Monday, 6 December 2021.
The visit was attended by Head of Department of Photography Polimedia, Ni Made Widyastuti, M.Sn as well as her staffs, directly welcomed by Dean of Unpas FISS, Dr. Hj. Senny Suzanna Alwasilah, M.Pd, Vice Dean I Regina Octavia Ronald, S.Sn., M.Si, Head of Unpas Department of Photography and Film, Rahmadi, S.Sn., M.Sn and other teachers.
As for further information, both Unpas and Polimedia Department of Photography are now joined in the Association for Indonesian Photography Department (Asosiasi Program Studi Fotografi Indonesia, SOFIA). Other than Unpas and Polimedia, other universities, such as Indonesian Institute of Art (Institut Seni Indonesia, ISI) Padangpanjang, ISI Surakarta, ISI Yogyakarta, ISI Denpasar and Universitas Trisakti are also members of SOFIA.
Head of Unpas Department of Photography and Film, Rahmadi, S.Sn., M.Sn said that in formulating MBKM curriculum, Polimedia Department of Photography would want to find out how Unpas maintains and implements the MBKM program within its courses, as well as ask for suggestions before the curriculum itself is officially set up.
“Alhamdulillah, it went smoothly. We also provided information they need based on our experience while implementing the MBKM curriculum. In Polimedia, we have just started it, so we need few suggestions and know-how, as in the meantime they could implement it in their campus,” he said.
He thought that the visit cannot be separated from the purpose of SOFIA, one of which is to be helpful to each other and grow together, as well as fixing the lacks and those which needs to be fixed. This is to make all members be able to implement government regulation.
“This visit is just a sharing start. But we once used to discuss about next collaboration plan, either MoA or MoU, since MBKM program referred to the collaboration between institutions. Previously, we have already held a collaboration with ISI Yogyakarta which is currently still running,” he continued.
In this visit, important points discussed about included the vocational-based courses, final-assignment execution, graduates’ profiles, tracer study, laboratory practice and other discussions. Considering the different levels of education in Unpas and Polimedia Department of Photography, it must refer to the KKNI, OBE, and the MBKM curriculum itself.
“However, because we already have references to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (Kerangka Kuafikasi Nasional Indonesia, KKNI), Outcomes Based Education (OBE), and MBKM, we can see what the characteristics of Polimedia are. From there, it is found that the profile of graduates at Polimedia is dominant in the fields of journalism and commercial,” he concluded. (Reta)*
