BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) Universitas Pasundan appreciates its students who joined and performed in Papua PON XX on behalf of West Java province.
The appreciation is in form of certificates and uang kadeudeuh (lit. it means sum of money given as a sign of affection) handed directly by Dean of FISIP Dr. M. Budiana, S.IP., M.Si along with the My FISIP Unpas application-launching event and commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s Day of Birth on Friday, 22 October 2021.
Four students of Unpas FISIP strengthening West Java contingent are from indoor volleyball and women’s water polo. The three indoor volleyball athletes, namely Cep Indra Agustin, Farhan Halim and M. Fikri Mustofa Kamal successfully won the gold medal after defeating DKI Jakarta in final round.
In women’s water polo, Selfia Nur Fitroch had to be satisfied with getting a silver medal after being defeated by DKI Jakarta.
Cep Indra, M. Fikri and Selfia are students of Social Welfare Studies Department, while Farhan Halim is a Business Administration Studies student.
Dean of Unpas FISIP conveyed his being proud of the achievement West Java got in defending its general champion. In total, West Java has collected 353 medals; 133 golds, 105 silvers and 115 bronzes. Even more, students of Unpas FISIP also took part in gaining the medals and presenting their best performance.
“This makes us [Unpas FISIP academic civitas] proud. The Rector and General Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan are also proud of the achievements of their athletes,” he said.
He hoped that the achievements could be maintained and improved. It is also expected to trigger other students to follow the steps.
“Along with the momentum of Prophet Muhammad’s Day of Birth, we give them uang kadeudeuh and appreciation. We hope this achievement could motivate other students in FISIP, not only in sports, but also in other fields,” he added.
Other than uang kadeudeuh and appreciaction, the faculty, university and foundation always try to pay attention to the athletes’ future, especially on their education when they are retired from sports.
“We wish to give our concern to all outstanding students; one of which is by distributing educational scholarship. We hope this scholarship could ensure their education after getting retired as athletes. Therefore, they have prepared themselves in the future with their education,” he concluded. (Reta)*
