BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Today, having research published in a journal is a key for a university and teacher to contribute to the development of knowledge and improvement of reputation.
Journal publication will show the competence and professionalism of the teacher and institution, as well as fulfil the position requirement which becomes the instrument of accreditation assessment of the department or university.
Therefore, Master Degree Program Universitas Pasundan signed the agreement between West Java DPD Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA) and other various university journals in West Java.
The signing event was hybrid held at Unpas Magister Degree Program Building, Campus V, Jl. Sumatera No. 41, Bandung and virtually on Zoom Cloud Meeting, on Thursday, 9 September 2021.
According to the Head of West Java DPD IAPA Dr. H. Yaya Mulyana Abdul Aziz, M.Si, there are many teachers who find it hard to write a qualified article in the journal. Journal reviewer also often finds it hard to review or edit the articles themselves.
“IAPA helps the university to fulfil the position of writer or editor if the university lacks of one of them, especially the journal is a key for university and teachers to obtain their accreditation or title in other higher education level,” he explained.
Realizing the importance of the qualified journal for teachers, institutions, as well as campus accreditation, IAPA will hold a cooperation and supervise 23 journal administrators in the university in West Java. It is to make the journal published get better and more qualified.
“To created a qualified journal, there need to be some administrator and proper management. We will do the training to the teacher in the university which later is going to collaborate with IAPA to obtain SINTA 1 accreditation, even more international,” he explained.
Apart from that, IAPA will also provide the university to obtain the writing sources from students, both final assignment, thesis or dissertation. These students’ assignment should be maintained in a good way, so that the journal deserves to be published.
Vice Director I of Unpas Magister Program Prof. Dr. Bambang Heru P., M.Si stated the he and his staffs greatly welcomed the breakthrough program of West Java IAPA to hold a collaboration in both writing and publishing a journal.
“One of the purposes of Unpas Magister Program is to improve scientific research. We keep preparing ourselves to create research in the international level,” he said.
In the next future, Unpas Magister Program will hold a meeting between teachers to discuss about further information on journal publication and community service collaborated with other universities.
“This year, we will focus on how to improve productivity of journal publication in Unpas Magister Program,” he added.
He thought that by a good quality of journal publication, Unpas Magister Program and other universities in West Java will not deal with much problems when submitting their journals/articles to be published to the international level.
“It certainly needs hard-work and cooperation, but I am sure that the journal we have made could be listed and indexed in Scopus,” he concluded. (Reta)*
