BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Unpas Students’ Community of Public Administration (Himpunan Mahasiswa Administrasi Publik, Hima AP), FISIP Universitas Pasundan, represented by Division of Studies, Action and Strategy (Kajian, Aksi, dan Strategi, Kastrat) actively provides and distributes education about sexual abuse and violence issues.
This was carried out, in coincidence with the concern of increasing case of sexual violence in universities according to the data released by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbudristek).
To build and increase student awareness of acts of sexual violence, Hima AP initiates various activities, both in the form of discussions and concrete actions.
One of them was accommodated through BAPER-AP event (Berbagai Perspektif Administrasi Publik) some times age, with the topic of the existence of Permendikbudristek No. 30/2021 on PPKS and the implementation of prevention of sexual violence.
General Chairman of Hima AP, Mohamad Fauzi Rahmadini said that BAPER-AP becomes a forum to create an environment in the campus which is safe from sexual violence on women.
BAPER-AP also becomes the learning media for students to be able to get to know more about the other perspectives from public figures and experts who focus on handling sexual violence.
“BAPER-AP presents five outstanding speakers, such as Secretary of Inspectorate General for Kemendikbudristek, Expert Analyst of Policy for Division of Women and Children Protection for DP3AKB West Java, Member of Commission V for DPRD West Java, teacher of Public Administration FISIP Unpas and Head of LBH Balinkras,” he said.
According to him, the discussion on sexual violence is important to be delivered to give a more proper education and actualize a more comfortable campus atmosphere. Besides, in most cases, there are many students and people around them who do not dare to speak up when they are sexually violated.
“Students must be critical and smart in handling these kind of issues [sexual violence]. With various perspective, student will have their base in every action/thought and commit to have more knowledge on this,” he said.
Hima AP keeps encourage, fully support and invite all students to move forward together along with Kemendikbudristek in getting rid of sexual violence.
“Hima AP wants to create a safe environment/space in campus, so we will be free from sexual violence,” he concluded. (Reta)*
