It was officially begun by UNPAS Vice Rector III. Dr. Deden Ramdan., M.Si., CICP. DBA. In his speech, he appreciated the event held by the community, as a continuation of student organization activities during Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Deden Ramdan also stated that in its curriculum, UNPAS also set entrepreneur education as one of its courses in various study programs, both included in semester credit and not included. This is carried out in order to create entrepreneurial spirit.
“We thought that one of indicators of nation’s improvement can be seen from the number of its entrepreneur. The more the number of entrepreneur, the higher its indicator. We should create an entrepreneurial spirit,” he explained.
Entrepreneurial spirit, he thought, is not only viewed by the economic aspect, but also by the independence and thinking attitude/ behavior. Apart from that, the webinar itself also strengthened the commitment in the era of penta-helix development.
In the era of Penta-Helix, it needs a synergic collaboration between the strong elements of development from the government, mass media, community, university and entrepreneur. These 5 elements should strengthen and encourage each other.
“The elements should be able to penetrate, strengthen and encourage each other. We also should remember that in the midst of pandemic, this country requires many entrepreneurs as part of Penta-helix,” he said.
He also added that the webinar is deductively an effort to create and form a bigger nation: one of which is by presenting entrepreneur who takes and thinks about nation’s advantage/ development, not only about him/ herself.
As a keynote speaker in the webinar, Sandiaga Uno explained about entrepreneurship and steps to run a business in the middle of crisis. He thought that entrepreneurship was not only a profession, but also a thinking pattern/ behavior.
“Entrepreneurship is a step to keep our mind optimistic, high-spirit and high-solved during pandemic. Entrepreneurs do not complain: they have their own spirit to be part of the changes, not only be the laymen,” he said.
Related to the steps in running the business during pandemic, Sandiaga Uno stated the main key that needs to be paid attention to is to keep innovating and taking digital acceleration as benefits. Innovation should be in line with the technology-based solution to create digital economy.
“For the next plan, a successful last-standing business is a business that can easily adapt to the current condition. Therefore, due to Covid-19 pandemic, we should really do few adaptations in our daily life: such as keeping our body health, clean and safe, as well as keeping the environmental sustainability,” he added.
To be able to pass through the crisis, business should also be able to collaborate to each other. This includes by making partner and co-work with other strong party in the marketing field, production, branding and communicating.
“Let us prepare together with Universitas Pasundan. We build young generations that do not only seek for a job, but also create job opportunity. Regarding to the creative economy, it is indeed the young generation that moves people,” he ended (Reta Amaliyah S).
