Faculty of Economics and Business UNPAS Bandung, Indonesia, rejoined its collaboration with other foreign university. This opportunity came to the Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart University Bangkok, Thailand, a third well-known university in the country.
The MoU Agreement was signed by both Deans of the Faculty: Dr. H. Atang Hermawan, MSIE., Ak, from UNPAS Bandung Indonesia and Dr. Vijitsri Sanguanwongse, from Kasetsart University Bangkok Thailand, in the end of January 2020.
The signing of MoU was also witnessed by Vice Rector I of UNPAS, Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, M.Si and Vice Rector III of UNPAS, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si (both are representatives of Rector of UNPAS), some professors of Faculty of Economics and Business UNPAS, including Prof. Dr. H. Sidik Priadana, Prof. Dr. H. Azhar Affandi and Prof. Dr. Ida Suraida, Heads of Department and several teachers.
The event was continued to a seminar, which was sent by Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, Dr. Sasa S. Suratman and Dr. Horas Julius.
Seeing the enthusiasm for making project real soon, both Deans from UNPAS Bandung and Kasetsart Bangkok would implement further collaboration in the form of E-learning program, then followed by student exchange program and last, but not least, visiting professor program. “We have even agreed to carry out joint-research program as well. Another program is that, each teachers of the faculty should even possibly upload their scientific work/ article to the journal maintained by each university,” said Atang Hermawan.
He also stated that E-learning program between both faculties would be developed in the form of triangular E-learning program with Kyung Hee University which has previously collaborated with UNPAS. “Faculty of Economics UNPAS and Kyung Hee have already been running the program for 2 years and it is going to be the third year”.
By the satisfying statement from Dr. Atang Hermawan, Prof. Dr. Vijitsri Sanguanwongse would also love to join the program.
Support of Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok
During the series of academic visit, other than Kasetsart University, UNPAS delegations also visited Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok and were welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador for Thailand, H. Ahmad Rusdi, accompanied by Representative of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Mustari. The Indonesian Embassy also agreed to help UNPAS, Faculty of Economics and Business in particular, collaborate with other universities in Thailand, especially in Bangkok.
Vice Rector I of UNPAS, Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja and Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Atang Hermawan explained the information to the Ambassador and Representative regarding the signing of MoU agreement between both Faculty of Economics and Business UNPAS and Faculty of Economic Kasetsart Bangkok.
By this program, the Indonesian Embassy stand on their support and would soon provide some facilities for UNPAS collaborate with other universities in Thailand, especially regarding the scholarship program. “There are several universities which are able to provide scholarships for Indonesian student. We would recommend them to give the scholarship to students of FEB UNPAS,” said H. Ahmad Rusdi, Indonesian Ambassador for Thailand.***
