BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Laughter and emotions broke the silence during the moving-in ceremony of leaders and staffs of the Rector of Universitas Pasundan from Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193 to the new building on Campus II, Jalan Tamansari No. 6-8.
The new Unpas’ Rector Building which was officially announced in last December 2021, starting Monday, 10 January 2022 is officially occupied. The Rector’s moving-in to a new office marked the return of central activities to Campus II Tamansari as it once was.
Before leaving for Campus II Tamansari using buses and motorbikes, leaders and staffs of the Rectorate consulted first to the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Art and Literature, as well as all academic staffs within Campus IV Setiabudhi.
The Rector Office’s moving-in to Campus II Tamansari located at the city centre is expected to facilitate easier access, optimize operational performance and bring new enthusiasm in promoting University Tri Dharma.
Asides Rector’s Office, this new eight-floor building is also used for the Dean Office of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Dean Office of Faculty of Teaching and Education (FKIP), as well as FEB and FKIP’s teachers’ lounge for FEB and FKIP.
“It is a very historic day for us. It has been approximately 14 years since the Rector has occupied Campus IV Setiabudhi. There are many unforgettable memories indeed. Thanks to the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Arts and Literature for accepting us. The relationship and cooperation will always be maintained,” said Vice Rector II Dr. Ir. Yudhi Garnida, MP., in his remarks.
Later, rooms in Campus II Setiabudhi will be allocated for Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Arts and Literature. Few staffs of Household Division will also be place as coordinator to maintain public areas in Campus IV.
“We hope, Rector’s new office would bring us goodness and blessing. We hope, the facilities which are available in Campus IV would remain maintained properly. We moving-in to Campus II Tamansari is not without challenge, but we still to adapt to FEB and FKIP,” he continued.
Dean of Faculty of Engineering Dr. Ir. Yusman Taufik, MP and Dean of Faculty of Arts and Literature Dr. Hj. Senny Suzanna Alwasilah, SS., M.Pd who also gave their remarks wished that it could improve Unpas’ quality and service.
“We are sad, but happy as well. It has been 14 years together, but now we have to part ways. On the other hand, we are happy. We are sure that Unpas’ new office would provide positive spirit for its leaders and employees,” said Dr. Senny.
Ended by reading a rhyme, Dean of Faculty of Engineering Dr. Ir. Yusman Taufik, MP said separation is not a barried to keep establishing and maintaining silaturahmi; distance is only a term to strengthen the kinship.
“Minum kopi hanya secangkir, nikmat diminum di pagi hari. Perpisahan bukanlah akhir, masih dapat bersilaturahmi,” he said, in a rhyme.
Lastly, Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, SE., MSi, representing the Rector, conveyed flashbacks and major achievements that were born while the Rector was located at Campus IV Setiabudhi, such as the achievement of A-ranked accreditation, the formulation of the Faculty of Medicine, until being trusted to be the recipient of the PKKM grant.
“Setibudhi Campus IV has witnessed various big events. The pleasant atmosphere really supports the individuals in it to always prioritize hard work, smart work, sincere work, and thorough work,” he concluded. (Reta)*
