BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – As many as 16 students of Universitas Pasundan received an educational scholarship of Bachelor Degree acceleration from Jabar Future Leaders Scholarship (JFLS) 2021 announce on Thursday, 23 September 2021.
These sixteen students of 2021 JFLS grantee are Fajar Zulfikar (Communication Studies), Kelvin M. Yusron (Communication Studies), Rangga M. Sada Saputra (International Relation Studies), Lisna Aprilia Aziza (Law Studies), Rifqi Taufik Riesnaldi (Management), Hanny Meidaningsih (Economic Education), Valda Zahirra Sidqi (Law Studies), Leli Dwi Anggraeni (International Relation Studies), Nadia Rizqitationi (International Relation Studies), Neng Tri Sulistiawati (Public Administration Studies), Tanti Hardiyanti Utari (Accounting), Maryam Puspitasari (Food Technology), Sonia Nuraeni (Public Administration Studies), Tiara Khoerun Nisa (Law Studies), Fachri Fachreji (International Relation Studies), dan Saniah Samrotul Mufidah (Business Administration Studies).
JFLS is a higher education fund assistance program from West Java Provincial Government through the Office of Education. This fund assistance is targeted for people in West Java who are currently studying in Diploma, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree, and have its outstanding achievement in both academic and non-academic field.
JFLS program is targeting to prepare West Java young generation who have leadership and entrepreneurial spirit as leaders in the future. Students who passed the selection will later receive much advantages in the form of educational fund assistance as well as tutoring program.
On its symbolic scholarship handover, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil asked all JFLS grantees to take this opportunity as optimal as possible; one of which is by studying seriously.
“I give you advice, do not waste this scholarship, because it was given to you for the development of future West Java. Study well and keep getting achievement. When graduating, keep having dream of developing West Java,” he said at the video conference in Gedung Pakuan, Bandung, on Thursday, 23 September 2021.
He also mentioned about the disruption of 4.0 industry revolution and Covid-19 pandemic which is still hitting. The 4.0 industry revolution makes physical and manual work switched by the machine, while Covid-19 pandemic forces people to adapt and apply a new way of thinking.
“Students who receive this scholarship should better understand both of them; that to face and deal with the 4.0 industry revolution, students should work and serve in the most promising sectors. Disruption of Covid-19 is also similar to that; if you are willing to adapt, learn and change, you will still keep going on as time goes by,” he added.
One of the 2021 JFLS grantees from Communication Studies Department, Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) Kelvin Mohammad Yusron admitted that the was grateful for being given opportunity to receive the scholarship in his last year of study. He even is able to keep it for three years in a row.
“I am glad and thankful; other than having fund assistance to also help my parents, this scholarship shows many people that I deserve to, qualified and outstanding in both academic and non-academic field,” he said, on Monday, 27 September 2021.
Not only receiving fund assistance, he will also get a training course through online classes in YouTube platform. The program includes leadership training, career coaching and entrepreneurship.
“The subject materials were given by the experts and practitioner on their field. The intelligence they have encourage me to work even more creative and innovative, help actualize young professionals in order to create Jabar Juara. In addition, I also got a lot of relations from other campuses listed in JFLS group,” he said.
As a grantee, he is responsible to keep his subject score, GP and GPA stable, since each semester he is required to submit his academic development to JFLS website. Viewed from non-academic point of view, he is ‘forced’ to be more active in the organizational or volunteer activity.
“For non-academic activity, I applied it to the social community I have established on my own, that is Bandung Cara. Other JFLS grantees should to the similar activity giving impacts to the people. In Bandung Care community, we hold a teaching program to the orphanage and cancer foundation, do charity, social service and many more,” he concluded. (Reta)*
