BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Study Programs in Faculty of Engineering are currently still becoming favorites and getting high interest of the prospective students. Besides being prospective, there are a lot of practice-based courses/subjects which allow students to understand theory visualization studied in the class.
These are the following study programs in Unpas Faculty of Engineering which are studied and their prospects:
- Industrial Engineering
This study program is the right choice for those who want to step into the industry. The increasing industry development needs a lot of human resources to make it maintained comprehensively. Students will learn various aspects of industrial management optimization, such as technology, manufacture and management.
Through the skill of system designing, implementation, mentoring and evaluation, both in manufacture sector or service, graduates of this study program have job opportunities in various sectors: production, manufacture, planning, engineering, HRD (Human Source Development), consultant and many more.
- Food Engineering
The increasing human need for food is inversely proportional to the availability of raw materials or food sources. That is why it takes a lot of experts who understand about food management by optimally utilizing technology and involving various components in its processing.
Graduates of this study program are oriented towards producing scientists, industrial practitioners, entrepreneurs and bureaucrats who are highly competitive and professional in their fields. With the knowledge they own, job opportunities for graduates are very open in the fields of production, research and development, quality control, design of machinery and equipment for the food industry, and management and marketing.
- Mechanical Engineering
Industrial sector continues to grow and the use of smart-machines requires Human Resources who are able to design, produce, control and maintain them. Unpas Mechanical Engineering in Faculty of Engineering has a mission to prepare human resources who are able to play a role in the field of design (design engineers), industrial practitioners (plant engineers, field engineers, maintenance engineers), and entrepreneurs (technopreneurs).
Graduates of this study program have the opportunity to occupy strategic positions in various manufacturing industries, energy generation, oil and gas companies, automotive, research institutions, higher education institutions, consulting services, design, and engineering construction machinery.
- Informatics Engineering
This study program aims to fulfill the need of professional-and-skilled young staff in the informatics field in order to respond the need of practitioner need in the information and communication sector: both as the staff in the company and organization, and as freelancers who are prepared to be recruited, or as entrepreneur in informatics sector that builds and owns their independent business.
Graduates of this study program are directed to be skilled on designing algorithm and improving software for multiplatform application, network maintenance and information technology infrastructure, game application development and multimedia, as well as data maintenance. Its career prospects include software engineer and multiplatform developer, consultant, system analyst, games engineer, data manager and junior data science, technopreneur who develops startup, or becoming an academician.
- Environmental Engineering
In line with the growth of population and industry, environmental issues are getting more complex. This is the concern of Environmental Engineering study program whose studies focus on solving various environmental issues with a technological approach. Several fields of study in the Environmental Engineering study program include drinking water supply systems, waste water management, industrial waste as well as B3 (lit. berbahaya, beracun, berbau – including those which are dangerous, poisonous, and smelly), environmental quality management of water, soil and air, environmental and K3 management systems, as well as various environmental studies including AMDAL, KLHS, and others.
Graduates of this study program have a chance to build a career in various institutions, both state and private, as well as entrepreneurship. There are many opportunities to work in the central and regional governments, especially in the environmental service, public works department, Bappeda, PDAM, PDPAL and others. In addition, they can also work in the private sector by becoming environmental management managers in various industries, K3 personnel, consultants and engineering contractors. Also become development facilitators, environmental activists, researchers, academics, and even entrepreneurs who understand the principles of environmental protection.
- Urban and Regional Planning
Societies, wherever they are, want a harmonious environment to support the improvement of quality of life. This is the concern of this study program – to synergize the use of natural and artificial resources in order to create a safe, comfortable, productive, and sustainable space in the midst of various dynamics encountered in the development process.
Through the development of various skill groups, namely Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Infrastructure and Transportation Planning, Coastal and Marine Planning, and Disasters, it is expected that this study program will be part of the solution to create a better life in the future.
Prospects for the graduates of this study program varies in various sectors, such as government agency related to development planners, engineering consultants, planners or contractors, even non-technical institutions such as banking or corporate management, as well as entrepreneurs. (Reta)*
