BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – At the end of 2021, Universitas Pasundan reheld a Covid-19 Vaccination program for students over 12 years old, college students and general public at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193, Bandung, on Tuesday, 28 December 2021.

The program is intended for recipients of the second dose, in collaboration with Kodam III/Siliwangi, West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah Jawa Barat, BPBD), West Java Disaster Preparedness Post (Pos Gabungan Siaga Bencana Jawa Barat) and Unpas Forum of Peduli Negeri.

Unlike the usual vaccinations, this time the registration was carried out directly at the location, but it was prioritized to be given to participants who previously received dose 1 vaccine at Unpas on 29-30 October 2021.

Since morning, queues of participants were crowding over the yard of Mandala Saba Otto Iskandar Dinata. However, they remained orderly and obeyed the committee’s direction to maintain health protocols.

Types of vaccines provided are Sinovac and AstraZeneca, approximately 2,000 doses. Participants who received dose 1 from elsewhere are also allowed to register for a second dose while it supplies last.

This program involved students, health staffs from Kodam III Siliwangi as screening officers and vaccinators, as well as personnel from the West Java BPBD and West Java Disaster Preparedness Post to help maintain order and security during the activity.

It is the umpteenth time that Unpas has held a Covid-19 vaccination program, starting in March 2021 for lecturers and internal academic staffs. At that time, vaccine administration was centred at Unpas Campus V and Office of Paguyuban Pasundan,

Unpas continues to be committed to contributing in achieving herd immunity in West Java, especially in Bandung; so that citizens’ mobility can return to normal. Moreover, the public is now faced with the Omicron and Delta variants of Covid-19, whose cases were recently detected in Indonesia.

“The purpose is still the same, to help government achieve and accelerate the second-dose of vaccination. Let us vaccinate, because it is the important element to get out of the crisis,” said Unpas Vice Rector II, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si.

Quoted from detik.com, the first-dose vaccination progress in Bandung has already reached 99.07% or about 1.934.133 people; while the second-dose vaccination has only reached 87,28% or 1.704.046 people. Since the first-dose must complete in December 2021, Bandung City Government keeps trying to speed up the second-dose vaccination program.

One of the vaccines participants from Kelurahan Srijadi, Sindi Suci Lestari, said that she was really enthusiastic to attend the Covid-19 vaccination program held by Unpas. Apart from being close to her house, she admitted that it was difficult for her to find a vaccination location which allows her to get the first-dose vaccines elsewhere.

“I had already asked about this through Unpas social media; whether I can get vaccinated if I did not get the first-dose from Unpas. Then, I ws directed to come directly to the place and it was allowed because the stock was sufficient. Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful,” she concluded. (Reta)*
