BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – West Java Association of Indonesian Private University (Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia, APTISI) held an event of ‘Farewell Ceremony of Head of University’s Service Institution Region IV West Java-Banten’ in APTISI Building Region IV, Jalan Cimencrang, Panyileukan, Bandung, on Tuesday, 11 January 2022.
The event was held as a form of appreciation and gratitude to Head of LLDIKTI Region IV 2017-2021, Prof. Dr. Uman Suherman, AS., M.Pd, as well as congratulation to the new Head of LLDIKTI Region IV 2022-2026, Dr. M. Samsuri, S.Pd., MT who have just officially announced in early January 2022.
Head of West Java APTISI who is as well Rector of Universitas Pasundan, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.SI., M.Kom., IPU stated that the good relationship and collaboration between West Java APTISI and LLDIKTI Region IV needed to be improved, especially in the current era of ‘Paradigm Sharing’.
“Paragidm sharing certainly shows us that collaboration is the main important point in actualizing our goals, considering the fact that West Java APTISI and LLDIKTI Region IV have good relationship,” he said.
Prof. Eddy also stated that the collaboration between private universities in Region IV and LLDKTI includes institutional training, academic development, as well as establishing better quality of human resources.
He emphasized that collaboration between institution in realizing excellent private university in West Java and Banten was created due to a good long-term communication and will be still improved.
“Alhamdulilah, collaboration we have made has given us much benefits such as the needs of study programs and its establishments, enhancement of teachers’ functional position, fund-grants and so on. These are forms of synergy from LLDIKTI, APTISI, Association of Organization Board for Indonesian Private Universities (Asosiasi Badan Penyelenggara Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia, APBPTSI) and Association of Indonesian Private Universities (Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia, APPERTI),” he said.
Prof. Eddy himself also expressed his gratefulness and expectation to LLDIKTI Region IV; hopefully this year’s new leadership could continue the struggle and obtain better achievements which is going to be increasing.
“Thank you very much, to Prof. Uman Suherman for his dedication, also to the Secretary of LLDIKTI Region IV Ir. Dharnita Chandra, M.Si. Welcome and congratulations to Dr. M. Samsuri, we hope the association would gain more progress and be more successful,” he added.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Uman Suherman, AS., M.Pd stated that the togetherness which has been build by APTISI, ABBPTI and APPERTI has provided him an opportunity to build and establish the private universities in West Java and Banten.
“Not only because the area is very wide, there are also a lot of private universities. My personal experience, along with LLDIKTI Region IV, has successfully build and establish the first private university in Indonesia,” he said.
He himself urged that all private universities, especially in West Java and Banten could be able to help and improve each other.
“Do not let the leader be arrogant because of its superiority and so does the staffs be inferior. All process would be carried out together,” he confirmed.
Prof. Uman also continued that the farewell ceremony was not an absolute separation, but it is only a formal position. “I need to admit that we are not fully separated, between me and you, we are only separated in formal position. Insya Allah, our hearts, thoughts, and feelings will still be in the core of private university and LLDIKTI,” he added.
Meanwhile, in his last speech, Dr. M. Samsuri, S.Pd., MT stated that he wanted to actualize the private universities in Region IV to be the universities which are able to give birth to characterized and excellent generation.
He stressed that those two points should be ran well with all elements of the institutions, including the graduates themselves.
“Besides academic civitas establishing the quality of excellent university, its results and graduates also need to be excellent and characterized. These two points should be balanced to each other; great institution, as well as outstanding, characterized and qualified graduates,” he explained.
“During a process, there will certainly be things to be accelerated; we will also kindly achieve every suggestion and advice. We work hand-in-hand to improve the quality and strive to work hard to provide our best sincere service,” he said.
“Aura Kasih pergi ke Kampung Melayu, Sekian terima kasih thank you,” he ended his speech with a rhyme. (lit. meaning: rhyme to say goodbye and gratefulness)
The ceremony was also attended by West Java APTISI Supervisor who is as well Director of Unpas Post-graduate Program Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si., Head of West Java APPERTI who is as well Pasundan Foundation Head of Higher Education, Dr. Makbul Mansyur, M.Si., Head of West Java ABPPTSI Dr. H. Sali Iskandar, Rector of Universitas Widyatama Prof. Dr. H. Obsatar Sinaga., M.Si., Prof. Samsir Mira, Dr. H. Lili Muslihat, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Ali Abdurahman, M.Ag., and few other leaders and representatives of private universities Region IV, both online and offline. (RicoB)*
