BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – General Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si urges all elements of Paguyuban Pasundan to do self-evaluation, introspection and role-reposition at the moment of 109th anniversary.
It was stated when he led the commemoration ceremony of the anniversary at the front-yard of Gedung Paguyuban Pasundan, Jalan Sumatera no. 41 Bandung, on Wednesday, 20 July 2022.
This year, the anniversary of Paguyuban Pasundan raises the theme “Ngindung ka Waktu, Ngabapa ka Jaman, Sabilulungan Jadi Cepengan”. Prof. Didi said the theme is specific since it is officially held in Covid-19 post-pandemic era.
“We need to re-evaluate ourself and reposition our role. We cannot let ourselves dive in too deep into the euphoric feeling but we still lack of performance. We need to emphasize ourselves that we are not part of political party, but we have political behaviour/thought. We are ready to provide best contribution for NKRI as well as our previous figures did,” he confirmed.
Restoring the Glory of Paguyuban Pasundan
Paguyuban Pasundan had its historical potential, especially in politic and education. This was seen from the dedication of Otto Iskandar Dinata and Ir. Djuanda in Paguyuban Pasundan. Both of them mostly contributed to the development of education, economic, socio-culture, youths and women empowerment as well.
“Paguyuban Pasundan’s contribution in political was huge, but still lacks of socialization from various parties. In accordance to its 109th anniversary, I want media and other components to help socialize it to restore the glory of Paguyuban Pasundan in the past,” he wished.
Therefore, the values of struggle descended by our previous nation’s figures can be implemented by today’s generation. “In the next 30 years, we will be creating a history which, Insya Allah, will bring Indonesia better and greater,” he said.
This evening, Paguyuban Pasundan will also offer and perform a longser and wayang golek (Indonesian traditional puppet show) as a form of noble missions of Paguyuban Pasundan in upholding our local culture. People can enjoy the performance and culinary for free; even have the chance of winning a door-prize for umrah.
Unpas Ready to Contribute to Higher Education Sector
Rector of Universitas Pasundan Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU. stated that Unpas is an actual form of Paguyuban Pasundan’s contribution in higher education sector.
As an institution under the supervision of Paguyuban Pasundan, Unpas has its role to maintain and support the development of Paguyuban Pasundan.
“I, along with Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si in the Division of Organization of Paguyuban Pasundan are taking the efforts to establish more on the foundation, not only in the centre (main office), but also in the district/city. At this moment of 109th anniversary, Unpas must also contribute more to people in Indonesia, especially in the sector of higher education,” he concluded. (Reta)**
