BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Volleyball team of Universitas Pasundan won the champion in Gebyar LLDIKTI IV in Regional I (Bandung Raya) after defeating Universitas Sebelas April (Unsap) Sumedang at the Final Round, on Sunday, 17 July 2022.
Unpas Team successfully beat Unpas by straight set 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-16). At the quarter final, Unpas fought against STKIP Pasundan, while at the semi-final Unpas Team met Universitas Islam Nusantara (Uninus).
On both rounds, Unpas team played dominantly and defeated with straight score 2-0. This result made sure that Unpas team go to the next round in regional-level West Java-Banten.
Playing Joyfully is the Main Factor
Coordinator of the team who is as well Head of KOM Unpas for 2021-2022, Rafi Nurul Faturohman said that since the beginning, he himself and the coach emphasized the team to play joyfully.
“We still have spare time left, until our next match, so we are currently practicing to prepare regional-event competition. We also have our performance evaluated during the match, it is our preparation to face the next match,” he said, on Tuesday, 19 July 2022.
In Gebyar LLDIKTI IV, Unpas sent 14 athletes in volleyball and 1 athlete in table tennis. Especially for volleyball, Unpas KOM has also carried out talent scouting to prepare for bench-players.
“In volleyball, Unpas has already had 6 main players in a team. Since the bench-player has just joined the them, we also need to prepare them properly and equally during the match, so they are able to catch up the main players’ performance,” said Rafi.
Mentioned about the opposite team which needs to be paid attention to at the regional level, Rafi also said that until now, there are no information yet about the champion from each regional. However, he is optimistic that Unpas team could be able to play neat and nice, as what they did in Regional I.
Sending off Representative Athletes in Table Tennis
Although Unpas only sends off one athlete in table tennis, Rafi believes that Unpas could win the Champion.
“Table tennis started on Monday, 18 July 2022. On first game, Unpas met Universitas Sangga Buana YPKP. I myself accompanied him [the player] during practice/exercise, so I believe that he could win the first place and go the regional round,” he concluded. (Reta)**
