BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – The tense due to conflict of Russian and Ukraine which has been running since February 2022 has led to the unstable economic condition, even triggered to the increase of commodity price. It does not only occur in Indonesia, but also in various countries in the world.
The issues were then discussed on the public lecture entitled “Perspektif Konflik Rusia-Ukraina dan Dampaknya pada Geopolsosek Indonesia”. It was held at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda, Campus II Universitas Pasundan, on Monday, 25 July 2022 in order to commemorate the 109th Anniversary of Paguyuban Pasundan.
This event invited former Indonesia Ambassafor for Qatar, as well as teacher of President University Dr. KH> Abdul Wahid Maktub as keynote speaker. He reviewed that the impact of Russia-Ukraine conflict should be observed from the crisis aspect effected to the humanity condition.
Unpas Rector Prof. dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU. said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict caused food instability and depreciation of the rupiah against the dollar. The conflict which is getting worse must be accompanied by the ability to deal with the impact of geopolitics.
“One of which is by mastering literacy of big data, technology, and most importantly humanistic. Humanist literacy is the guardian of big data literacy products and technological literacy because it puts morality and ethics first,” he explained.
In Urgent Need of Having New Vision
To respond on the Russia-Ukraine conflict in the era of disruptive technology, it is necessary to change and see a new way of thinking (new vision), one of which is to upgrade thinking to be more critical and explanatory.
“We cannot rely on theory only, but also on practice: how to control the future, make estimations, and calculations. Study the information as complete and as deep as possible in order to map the possibilities that will happen,” said Abdul Wahid Maktub.
Russia-Ukraine conflict can also be addressed by forming a new paradigm based on glocal (global and local). Moreover, the world community is now entering a condition in which there are new opportunities and challenges.
“We are demanded to provide innovative and creative solutions. We also need to do self-reformation. Therefore, it will create a self-confidence and self-resilience whose concepts are similar to the nation: self-confidence will transform into self-resilience,” he explained.
Furthermore, Abdul Wahid Maktub also stated that the worlds’ chaos happening now also open the opportunity for Islam to appear more and bring new vision as the problem solution.
“Indonesia has the biggest Moslem population in the world. This country should be able to provide contribution and solution for world’s problems and issues. Morally, we have our voice high,” he confirmed. (Reta)**
