BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Since 2019, Faculty of Law Universitas Pasundan has its own Career Development Center to help connect students with work industry/sector.
CDC was formed under the leadership of Dean of Unpas Faculty of Law Dr. Anthon F. Susanto, S.H., M.Hum. He confirmed that the establishment of CDC was really needed because not all graduates were fully prepared after they completed their study.
“Although they are already prepared with certain skills to get directly into the actual condition, it is hard for them to adapt to if they only rely on their hard skill. Through CDC, it is expected for them to do the link and match in order to create relevance between work and academic field,” he explained on Friday, 12 August 2022
CDC aims to provide a more specific skills; therefore, graduates of Unpas Faculty of Law or other active students are able to obtain accurate information related to work field. “These information will be part of their enrichment process to deal with work field,” he continued.
According to him, technical practice such as legal drafting, pseudo court, and other hard skill preparation should be balanced with their soft skill.
“I think there’s anything wrong with CDC providing new understanding and skills to students by perceiving their experiences and alumni who have experienced the work field, legal proceedings, being judges, and others,” he explained.
That way, students or prospective graduates of Unpas Faculty of Law can build and improve their soft skills.
He said the soft skills provided were also accompanied by practical implementation. This helps prospective graduates to get used to and easily adapt to the work environment.
“Don’t wait for students to graduate and adapt, but we present that reality to campus through various kinds of training, skill development, and other abilities that are not obtained in lectures,” he said.
Students’ soft skill are also added and developed in the newest curriculum to create graduates as legal-preneur.
Apart from building their soft skill, CDC also form a relation and alumni network to provide better response.
“We need suggestion and advice from the alumni about how the development, coaching, and education system at Unpas Faculty of Law should be. These will lead us to fix significant improvement efforts in the future, in line with the current curriculum development concept,” he concluded. (Reta)**
