
BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan officially inaugurates 4.689 new students on the online PKKMB for 2022/2023 academic year held at the Hotel Savoy Homann, Bandung, on Tuesday, 4 October 2022.
By bringing the theme “Revitalisasi Semangat Mahasiswa Generasi Milenial Pasca Pandemi”, Unpas new students are expected to have their own power and spirit to raise and take participation in recovering the education, economy, health and other dimension.
Students are also asked to be the pioneer and provide their actual dedication for recovering and revitalizing the nation’s condition. This is started by the declaration and record-breaking of the most anti-drug student volunteers, to actualize Kampus Bersinar program.
Contributing on Facing Demographic Bonus
Facing and getting towards on the demographic bonus, Rector of Unpas Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.SI., M.Kom., IPU emphasized students to prepare themselves with digital literacy soft skill, since the future job will certainly need the role of millennial generations who are digitally literate.
“As the learners, Unpas students should be the biggest contributor in adding more of Indonesian Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER). You [the students] should be able to form a start-up ecosystem and be involved in digital transformation,” he said.
In his speech on this occasion, Head of LLDIKTI Region IV Dr. M. Samsuri, M.T., invited the student to take participation in succeeding Kampus Merdeka Program. It opens wide opportunities for students to improve their creativity and create excellent human resources.
“University must also take part in supporting the sustainability of the program; and it also needs to own a healthy open mind, broaden the networks between partners, departments and teachers, as well as improve students’ independent characters,” he explained.
Meanwhile, General Chaiman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si. left a message that Unpas new students need to be the frontliner for the glory of both Paguyuban Pasundan and Unpas, as well as being supported to have their own awareness of poor people and being learner reflecting clarity of conscience.
“Prepare and train yourselves to be fully tested and able to create job opportunity since the level of unemployment is getting high. Good luck to you all, prepare the world with full of happy struggle. Be the peacemaker,” he advised.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Head of National Narcotics Agency (Badan Narkotika Nasional, BNN), Director of Society’s Participation (Peran Serta Masyarakat), Deputy of BNN Division for Society’s Empowerment (Deputi Bidang Pemberdayaan Masyarakat) Brigadier General Pol. Richard M. Nainggolan, who gave the students brief advices on the importance of encouraging the prevention and illegal use of drugs (Pencegahan Pemberantasan Penyalahgunaan dan Peredaran Gelap Narkotika, P4GN) within campus.
The Increase Number of New Students
Head of PKKMB Committee who is as well Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si stated that this year, Unpas has its number of new students increased as much as 25 percent, compared to the previous year.
He thinks that the achievement is the thing we should be grateful for, because the higher education field has not been fully recovered from Covid-19 pandemic.
“This achievement indeed motivates us to keep developing the service. Public satisfaction should be our ‘breath’ and culture, the trust of students’ parents sending their kids to Unpas must not also be wasted. We will give optimal service to create and hone students’ soft skill,” he concluded. (Reta)**
