BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (Badan Narkotika Nasional, BNN) keep carrying out various preventing steps on drug-abuse, one of which is through university students.
Other than doing the campaign #WarOnDrugs and event in the 2022 Bandung Choral Festival which raised a theme ‘Sing Against Drugs’ held on 28-31 March 2022 in Universitas Katolik Parahyana, Indonesian BNN also promotes ‘Kampus Bersinar’ movement to actualize ‘Indonesia Bersinar’.
In the 20th Anniversary of Indonesian BNN, Universitas Pasundan was selected as the host of P4GN talk show “Gotong Royong Menghadirkan Kampus Bersinar”, a collaboration between Alliance of University Volunteers for Anti-Drug Abuse (Aliansi Relawan Perguruan Tinggi Anti Penyalahgunaan Narkoba, Artipena) on Thursday, 31 March 2022.
The talk show was held at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda, Unpas Campus II, Jalan Tamansari no. 6-8, Bandung.
The event was attended by Head of Indonesian BNN, Komjen. Pol. Peturs Reihard Golose, Deputy of Prevention Division for Indonesian BNN, Irjen Pol. Sufyan Syarif, Head of Artipena DPP Prof. Sutarto Hadi, Head of LLDIKTI Region IV Dr. M. Samsuri, M.T and other university Rectors within LLDIKTI Region IV.
Head of Indonesian BNN Komjen. Pol. Petrus Reinhard Golose stated that the strategic approach of soft power carried out by Indonesian BNN as an attempt of P4GN will be actualized through prevention, community empowerment and rehabilitation.
Other than soft power approach, Indonesian BNN also promotes smart power approach within university. Digitalization helps control, prevent and monitor the illegal drugs distribution within young generation environment
“I am flattered by the extraordinary support from universities throughout West Java in declaring zero tolerance for drugs. The smart power approach can be implemented through the educational curriculum so that students know and dare to say no to drugs,” he said.
He added that education and protection in the educational environment from drug exposure must be encouraged and promoted, especially with the increasing trend of drug abuse cases at a young age, plus the rise of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS).
He also added that in the world, there has been around 1.124 new types of NPS. Centre of Narcotics Lab of Indonesian BNN has also detected 87 NPSes, one of which is included in tembakau gorila.
“In the amendments to Law No. 35/2009, which is currently being processed by the DPR RI, we ask that a policy on NPS to be included, so that these substances can be controlled and actions taken,” he said.
He hopes that all stakeholders could make Indonesia clean of drugs starting with Kampus Bersinar program. Not only proclaiming it, but also realizing it with real actions so that the younger generation could avoid the danger of drugs.
“BNN plays a role in helping the younger generation with P4GN. With Artipena’s support, we can reduce the prevalence rate and reach our goal, Indonesia Bersinar,” he said.
Unpas Rector who is as well Head of West Java Artipena DPW, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU stated that several universities, including Unpas, have taken collaboration with BNN (District/City level) in P4GN.
“This is a penta-helix collaboration, as well as humanity program to save our future through young generation. Kampus Bersinar movement has been already massive, but we still need to promote it more with soft power, smart power and hard power approach,” he concluded. (Reta)*
