BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Pasundan and Paguyuban Pasundan holds a free Eye Check-up program for people in Kampung Jati Baru, Desa Jatiendah, Cilengkrang Sub-District, Bandung District, on Saturday, 6 August 2022.
After doing exercise together, students of the Faculty of Medicine and several teachers opened counselling services free eye check-up for the elders, especially cataract sufferers and residents who complained of cataract symptoms.
In addition to commemorating the 109th anniversary of Paguyuban Pasundan, this free eye check-up and counselling activity are real manifestation of the concern of the Unpas Faculty of Medicine academic community for public health.
Vice Dean III of the Faculty dr. Trias Nugrahadi, Sp.KN(K) said that this program is part of Public Health Empowerment Program (PHEP), the excellence orientation program in Unpas Faculty of Medicine.
“Students need to be involved because they will later carry out the humanity tasks. Their awareness should be prepared at early stage to form and build the figure of doctors who care about public health,” he explained, on Monday, 8 August 2022.
He also added that the elders in Desa Jatiendah are expected to be able to know more about the level of eye health and prevent the occurrence of cataracts that have the potential to cause blindness.
Through health education and free eye check-up program, Unpas Faculty of Medicing and Paguyuban Pasundan want to prove their existence by spreading benefits to the community.
Meanwhile, administrator of Paguyuban Pasundan, Irma Rachmawati, S.H., M.H., Ph.D said that the program is successful thanks to the collaboration between Unpas Faculty of Medicine and Paguyuban Pasundan Division of Collaboration, Women Empowerment and Public Health.
“Paguyuban Pasundan has its roles to fight against the neglection of reproduction rights, especially related to health education and health check-ups for the elders,” she concluded. (Reta)**
