BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – As many as 20 students of Universitas Pasundan receive educational scholarship from Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). The scholarship was ceremonially given at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda, Unpas Campus II, Jalan Tamansari No. 6-8, Bandung, on Wednesday, 15 June 2022.
The event was attended by Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si., Head of Unpas Student Affairs Bureau, R. Hj. Iin Martina, S.H., Vice Dean III of FEB and FISS and several representatives of Student’s Unit (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa, UKM)
It was also attended by CEO of BNI for Bandung Main Branch (Kantor Cabang Utama, KCU) Irwansyah Kasuma Putera, Chairman of Marketing and Business Division of BNI for Bandung KCU Erwin Setiawan and Chairman of BNI for Bandung Second Branch Office (Kantor Cabang Pembantu, KCP) Ahmad Yani Evi Wara.
In his speech, Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si, representing the Rector sent his gratitude to BNI for giving these scholarship to Unpas students.
He hoped the scholarship will continue in the next several years, so BNI will also keep contributing to support the sustainability of Unpas’ students’ education.
The recipients of the scholarship are representatives of each faculty. They are even listed to have a good and great record of achievement and academic. The scholarship was also given to students who have actively done great in an organization, such as student institution, unit, as well as Student’s Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa, BEM).
“The total given amount of scholarship is as much as 20 million rupiahs. Hopefully it would be a starting point to spur and trigger other banks to provide CSR,” he said.
He continued that the campus has an interest in ensuring the continuity of student lectures. For this reason, this scholarship is a stimulus as well as an appreciation for students who are active in the faculties and universities.
“You [students] have a moral responsibility, namely completing lectures on time, as well as being role models and spreading positive impacts to other students,” he explained.
BNI Takes Efforts to Improve Synergy and Partnership
Chairman of BNI for Bandung KCU Irwansyah Kasuma Putera stated that the scholarship program is the first step to improve synergy and partnership with Unpas.
“Apart from providing superior service in financial solution, through this partnership, BNI is also ready to open opportunity for giving student’s internship and special selection for recruiting the employees,” he explained.
By applying same vision to bring education forward, it is possible for both parties, Unpas and BNI, to work on several joint-projects in the future. “We are really enthusiastic to foster further cooperation so our contribution will get much better and greater,” he explained.
One of the scholarship recipients who is also Head of Student’s Representative Board (Badan Perwakilan Mahasiswa, BPM) FEB Unpas, Haris Yosep Sinabutar was really grateful for the partner’s awareness and attention for Unpas. He was also thankful for being selected as one of the scholarship recipients.
“Thank you to BNI (as partner), also to the faculty and university; for having us (students) be active in a forum where we can create, work and do our organizational activities. It is an honour to have this scholarship,” he concluded. (Reta)**
