BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – In commemorating its 27th anniversary, Student’s Press Institution (Lembaga Pers Mahasiswa, LPM) Jumpa Universitas Pasundan holds a Workshop for Feature Writing, on Friday-Sunday, 10-12 June 2022.
The workshop is the series of LPM Jumpa’s external anniversary targeted for junior members. Its purpose is to form an expressive, educative, informative and creative person in the press/media.
Student’s press becomes the centre of information within campus. Therefore, there needs to be an advanced training to make their skill much better.
General Chairman of LPM Jumpa Agustina Wiguna said that previously Workshop of Feature Writing was targeted for students’ press in various universities, but eventually was focused on its junior members.
“We want these junior members more prepared and trained to run the work of journalistic,” he said.
The workshop was presented by practitioner of mainstream media, Tempo journalist Anwar Siswadi and Tirto.id journalist Haris Prabowo.
As feature specialists, Anwar Siswadi discussed on the basics of feature writing, important elements of feature, steps of working on feature, as well as the techniques of writing the attractive feature; while Haris Prabowo describes more on deep report.
“The purpose is, to make these junior members develop their skill to make and create a good proper feature writing, as well as have the strong intuition on the life aspects and phenomena,” he explained.
After having the materials, junior members are projected to get directly into the field and do the report. They were asked to criticize the public facility in Bandung whose condition is poorly ruined.
“Alhamdulillah, we get the direction from the Head of Department of Urban Planning Deden Syarifudin, S.T., M.T to dig more on the issues; and also from Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si, as our mentor,” he continued.
Later, members of LPM Jumpa will be prepared and trained by knowledge and skill of journalistic. “Once they get into the actual field of journalistic, they already have their skill prepared,” he concluded. (Reta)**
