BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) Universitas Pasundan officially establishes a creative space called FISIP Creative Hub (FCH) on Friday, 25 March 2022.

The official announcement was attended by Unpas Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, M.Si., Vice Rector II Dr. Ir. Yudi Garnida, MP., Head of Unpas FISIP Senate Prof. Dr. H. Benyamin Harits, M.S., and several representatives of Faculty of Law Deans.

The agenda was also accompanied by mapag Ramadhan (lit. a Sundanese ceremony to welcome something) and the giving of souvenir to families of the late Unpas FISIP teacher, Dr. Asep Kusdiman Jauhari, M.Si.

This new infrastructure in Unpas FISIP can be used entirely by the academic civitas, both teachers, academic staffs, as well as student activities.

Dean of Unpas FISIP, Dr. M. Budiana, S.Ip., M.Si said that FCH will also be uses as teacher’s lounge room which is more representative to support the comfort of teaching and working.

FCH was designed with a modern interior in order to create a creative learning environment and present innovative and applicable learning models.

“There are 3 to 4 corners which can be used for making a teaching/learning video. We also provide a pantry, coffee maker, discussion space, as well as reading corner. Later, several book references will also be added to the hub, to make it more comfortable,” he said.

Unpas FISIP’s public relation staff is ready to help facilitate the learning/teaching video process. With the updated space layout, it is expected to improve students’ learning motivation.

He also stated that the infrastructure development and layout planning become one of Unpas FISIP’s attempts to attract students’ interest of reading.

“We try to make the eye-catching corners as part of promotion,” he added.

Apart from FCH, FISIP also plans to build a sky-bridge facility which connects the area above the Administration Room to the Department of Communication Studies.

“Later, the sky-bridge will pass through the library, so students can enjoy their reading time in outdoor space. We hope it could be real soon,” he said.

Unpas Vice Rector II, Dr. Ir. Yudi Garnida, MP., appreciated the idea of establishing the FCH which can be used for doing research, development, learning and create new prototypes.

“I wish, there would be a connectivity and network. Whoever comes to this hub is expected to be able to make such creative ideas, research products, PKM and improvement of learning quality for Unpas FISIP progress,” he explained.

To fulfil campus’ facility and infrastructure, Campus I Lengkong is currently preparing for constructing of multi-storey parking lots and renovation of mosques. Currently, the permit process is still ongoing considering that the development area is adjacent to the Cikapundung river.

“Regarding the plan to build a sky bridge, if it is positive, we will always provide support so that the academic community is comfortable with the current existing main area,” he concluded. (Reta)*
