BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Department of Communication Studies, FISIP Universitas Pasundan will hold a workshop for class-of-2019 students. It is the first step to implement the Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI) program.
FISIP and Department of Communication Studies become the first faculty and department in Unpas which implement the SKPI in order to prepare students to have more values when getting into the industry.
To support the implementation of SKPI, Department of Communication Studies has already collaborated with numbers of partners which will explain their presentation in the workshop in the next two weeks.
Head of Department of Communication Studies, Rasman Sonjaya, S.Sos., M.Si stated that the workshop that will be held will be adjusted to the institutional needs. Students are able to attend two workshops which is required and optional.
“The workshop includes Junior Public Relations by BPC Perhumas Bandung, Journalist Practice (Praktik Kewartawanan) by West Java PWI, Public Speaking dan Broadcasting by Gema Nusa, and Digital Marketing by Chlorine Digital Media,” he said.
He also added that Digital Marketing workshop is required to attend by students, while the other three can be chosen according to students’ interests. He reviewed that Digital Marketing is closely related to communication studies.
“Since we have already started it, we also need to commit to provide SKPI for the next year’s class,” he said.
Unlike diploma certificate and grade transcript which only enclose a grade point and academic grades, SKPI is more comprehensive because it describes achievements, participation in workshops, seminars, or other soft skill activities.
For strengthening SKPI track record, students of Department of Communication Studies are prepared by laboratory certificate, both in the level of department and faculty, also added by activities at student institution, workshop and seminar outside campus, and many more.
By SKPI, alumni of Unpas Department of Communication Studies are expected to have additional competences based on the learning achievement they have obtained.
“Today, world of business and industry (Dunia Usaha and Dunia Industri, DUDI) does not longer access students’ grade point only, but also their skill and practical abilities. This could be obtained through various learning programs in/out the campus: one of which is by MBKM program,” he concluded. (Reta)**
