BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Cirata Dam which is located in three districts: Purwakarta, Cianjur, and West Bandung District has its own beauty and tourist attraction.
Although it has been already used optimally as a hydroelectric power plant (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air, PLTA), tourism promotion of the biggest dam in Southeast Asia has not yet been carried out properly and optimally.
Therefore, at the end of April 2022, Team of Community Partnership Program (Program Kemitraan Masyarakat, PKM) Universitas Pasundan, along with Karang Taruna Kecamatan Cipeundeuy initiated the training of digital promotion tourism in Cirata area.
Head of the team, Dr. Taufik Hidayatulloh, M.M stated that the strategic promotion of tourism communication will create an integrated and productive ecosystem in Cirata.
The youths in Karang Taruna Cipeundeuy, who become strategic partners in developing the tourism in digital sector are considered to have the competence to create innovation, creation, and breakthrough in introducing the Cirata area.
“Digital promotion tourism training aims to build the mental and spirit of the local young people to be more open on both digitalization, insight of digital relationship and tourism promotion theoretically and conceptually, as well as to build the soft skill in maintaining tourism management,” he said.
The power of digital promotion can also help people who are running on business at the level of Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises be more recognized and able to trade their product on the wider dimension.
“To support the growth of excellent tourism order, there needs to be the structural awareness from the youth organization such as Karang Taruna,” Taufik added.
He also said that the main important key in doing the breakthrough of tourism digital promotion is the media cognition content, namely information, education, entertainment and e-commerce.
“The fourth one is the important aspect in attracting engagement between Cirata area, tourism provider and visitors,” he concluded. (Reta)*
