BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Division of Education of Indonesian Medical Council (Konsil Kedokteran Indonesia, KKI) underwent a visitation program, as well as monitoring and evaluation (monev) of Medical Education Deparment in Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Pasundan, on Friday, 4 February 2022.
According to the Consitution Law No 29/2004, KKI is in charge of conducting registration process for doctors and dentists, ratifying educational standard, as well as providing guidance/training in order to establish quality assurance and protection of community as recipients of medical/dental services.
Monitoring and evaluation of medical education standard is one of KKI duties to evaluate the implementation of educational and doctor’s competence standard. KKI will also give suggestions when Unpas Faculty of Medicine face some problems/obstacles in implementing the current standard.
KKI teams who are in charge of conducting the monitoring and evaluation are Prof. Dr. dr. Bachtiar Murtala, Sp.Rad(K) (Head of Education Division), dr. Mariatul Fadilah, MARS., PhD (Member of Education Division), dr. Siti Yunianti (Staff of Specialist of Medical Education Sub-Section) and Filzah Aprilia, S.K.M (Staff of Medical Education Section).
As the first opening activity, Unpas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Sc., M.Kom., IPU conveyed about the progress of the establishment of the Pasundan Education Hospital which is currently entering the finishing stage.
“The visit from KKI is very important to support the progress of education at Unpas Faculty of Medicine. As a form of responsibility, we must apply the educational and doctor’s competence standards. We hope that the suggestions and directions from KKI would make the faculty even better,” he explained.
Head of KKI Education Division Prof. Dr. dr. Bachtiar Murtala, Sp.Rad(K) sent his gratitude for having been allowed to take observation on the learning process and other important instruments which have been already running in the Department of Medical Education in Unpas Faculty of Medicine.
“This is none other than to guide and establish the department [Medical Education] based on the standard ratified by the constitution law. This is to make it able to be recognized by KKI,” he said.
Before the evaluation, Head of Department of Medical Education Dr. rer. nat. Afiat Berbudi, dr., M.Kes and Head of Deparment of Medical Profession dr. Primal Sudjana, Sp. PD, KPI revealed all data about teachers, students, excellences, program planning, achievements, learning implementation, as well as evaluation of learning result.
“The program that we are currently working on includes establishing curriculum, strengthening technology-based medical education methods, developing innovative learning methods, developing Islamic and Sundanese curriculum, strengthening PHEP, as well as improving the quality of learning evaluation, human resources, and students,” he explained.
The agenda was followed by document verification, review of facilities and infrastructure (laboratory, teaching hospital, etc.), discussion of findings, and closed by exit conference. (Reta)*
