BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Covid-19 pandemic indeed gives huge impact to every economic sector. It reduces income and gives various challenge to everyone. However, Unpas student institutions, Kopma (Koperasi Mahasiswa) still manage to survive and try to keep moving on.
The organization, under supervision of Vice Rector III (Student Affairs) Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si, establishing in the development of cooperatives and entrepreneurship is not discouraged and keeps improving themselves to find solutions. Apart from depending on the capital turnover of four business units at the Tamansari, Lengkong, and Setiabudhi campuses, Kopma is now starting to expand into the digital platform
Head of Kopma for 2021-2022 period, Mudita Prabowo said that since it is only unit in Tamansari that keeps to have operational hours, the staffs are now trying to improve innovation in other fields.
“Kopma has 4 business fields, including retail store in Tamansari and Lengkong, Green Café, and photocopy unit in Setiabudhi. Since there are no marketing targets in Lengkong and Setiabudhi, we focus on maintaining the store in Tamansari,” he said on Friday (June 18th, 2021).
At the normal condition, Kopma can gain up to 7 million rupiahs per day in Tamansari store. However, during pandemic, the incomes drastically decrease, even minus.
To get around this condition, Kopma utilizes a digital platform by trying out to produce hampers and bouquet and sell them out. If it sticks to the plan, Kopma will also expand the external target and is currently in formulating the idea.
“We step to the online ones, and we still develop and improve how to expand our business to the outside, in order not to make mistakes and would meet the expectations. Plus, there is only a small amount of capital, so it must be planned carefully, maybe July or August will already be there [the capital],” he explained.
Not only improving business unit, Kopma also carries out member’s scouting through Pasundan Business Club (PBC). The club is a community to brainstorm creativity and business participation, as well as interest and talent of its members.
“There are two divisions in PBC, business and interest/talent division. Members who have skills in business division can create a business plan. If it is interesting, we give them some money [as capital] to be actualized carefully. In the division of interest/talent, members can focus more on their potential and join the division of public speaking, art, or sport,” added Bowo.
Bringing out the motto ‘Sejahtera Bersama Anggota’, all activities of Unpas Kopma always sticks to the basis ‘from member to member’. The capital comes from mandatory savings and principal savings that will be back to the business unit. The profts will be returned to the members. In the cooperative management, it is called the Remaining Profits (Sisa Hasil Usaha, SHU)
Regarding the leadership handover has just been done in last March 2021, Kopma is still trying to fix few internal problems, study more on Cooperative Revenue and Expenditure Budget Plan (Rencana Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Koperasi, RAPBK) and work program, as well as maintaining the expenses.
