BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Graduation becomes a memorable moment for student, which is worth waiting for, after they finished their study. If, usually, a graduate is accompanied by his/her parents when having a graduation ceremony, this time, a mother and a daughter graduated together.
A unique moment happened on 2021/2022 Batch II Graduation Ceremony Universitas Pasundan held at the Harris Hotel and Convention Hall, Festival Citylink Bandung, on Saturday, 28 May 2022.
Not only getting their graduation ceremony together, both of them got the cum laude. The mother, Hamidah, M.I.Kom even got the Best Graduate form Master of Communication Studies with the GPA of 3.76.
An expression of happiness was also implied on the face of Unpas Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, M.Sc who is none other than the husband and father of these graduates.
“It is amazing: a moment we cannot repeat since we have limitation, both time, energy and finance as well. As a rational human, we are going to take the best opportunity of it. And we cannot waste it,” he said.
Prof. Jaja said that education becomes the most important thing in his family. He thinks that education can change paradigm, maturity and medium into better changes.
Education can encourage both intellectual and emotional intelligence, and make one be much more mature person step by step.
“Through education, someone is able to think and act responsively in responding something. This is what I feel within my family. By gaining much knowledge and understanding, our ability to think and fight are pretty much added and increasing,” he said.
As Head of Committee for 2021/2022 Batch II Graduation Ceremony, Prof. Jaja hopes that all Unpas graduates could take part and be a role model in the community.
“We should at least be useful for ourselves, or provide benefits for others by creating job opportunities. Congratulations, hopefully the title and knowledge will be a blessing,” he hoped. (Reta)**
