BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, officially opened the Regional Work Meeting (Rapat Kerja Wilayah) of the 15th Indonesian Students’ Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Seluruh Indonesia, BEM SI) West Java at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda Universitas Pasundan on Monday, 12 September 2022.
Ridwan Kamil encouraged students to reflect their goals of being in a state and nation which are oriented in Pancasila.
Students are also asked to create new ideas and carry out communication and collaboration with the government, especially West Java government to actualize their innovative ideas.
“Your struggle should refer to the actualization of justice and prosperity. Please do some reflection, then you analyse, whether it has been fair or not? If it has done progressively and has been some improvement, please appreciate the government,” he advised.
The Governor also stated that other than voicing the struggles out loud, the government also needs positive suggestion and students’ sensitivity in responding few issues to support government’s effort.
“All should be balanced. We wait for your intellectual aspiration and your effort physically,” he added.
Three Main Issues
There are three main issues he thinks to be concerned by students, namely Covid-19 pandemic, digital technology advancement and global warming.
He reviewed that if these issues were carefully maintained, indicators of developed country consisting of human resource quality, economy and infrastructure, as well as bureaucracy reformation, have chance to be actualized sooner.
“What are your ideas and responses on those issues? Students, as part of the 2045 Indonesian democracy reflection/reflector, have huge part to make Indonesia more developed and independent,” he said.
Presenting better solution and programs
Rector of Unpas Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU. emphasized that the 15th Rakerwil of BEM SI attended by 35 Students’ Executive Boards is expected to create better solutions and programs.
“Unite your ideas and create the solutions as preparation to give suggestion and contribution to the government,” he said.
General Chairman of PB Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si also asked students to fight and adapt well to read the situation in the community.
“Maintain the students’ dynamic to be able to develop, enjoy the community in this heterogenous country with positive movement,” he said.
Other than Governor of West Java, General Chairman of PB Paguyuban Pasundan dan Rector of Unpas, the 15th West Java Rakerwil of BEM SI was also attended by Kapok Sahli Pangdam III/Siliwangi Brigadier General Kuat Budiman, West Java Director of Finance Human Resource Shobirin F. Hamid, Unpas Vice Rectors and representatives of West Java BEM SI.
Bringing the theme “Optimalisasi Gerakan Mahasiswa dalam Memformulasikan Gagasan terhadap Problematika di Jawa Barat”, the 15th West Java Rakerwil BEM SI will be divided into two agenda, namely Forum Group Discussion (FGD) and plenary session. (Reta)**
