BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Closing the year of 2021, Executive Board of Paguyuban Pasundan held a year-end reflection program entitled ‘Bral Paturay Taun 2021, Bagéa Léngkah Taun 2022’ on Wednesday, 29 December 2021.
This program presented the General Chairman of Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) Bandung, Prof. KH. Miftah Faridl, MA., as the speaker for the program. General Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Didi Turmudzi, M.Sc., also conveyed that this program was a moment of reflection to welcome 2022, which was only a matter of days.
In his speech, Prof. Didi reminisced about his journey for approximately 45 years in Paguyuban Pasundan. According to him, Paguyuban Pasundan had provided us (him, especially) a lot of experiences, especially regarding self-development/improvement.
“I have read, thought, understood, ran and fought for [ourselves in] Paguyuban Pasundan since 1976. Here, I have found [our] awareness and experience a lot of development in various aspects,” he said.
As an organizational activist, he applies religious values in daily life as an effort to develop Islamic symbols. These values are very relevant to the vision and mission of Paguyuban Pasundan, namely realizing the dignity of the community, as well as fighting ignorance and poverty.
Prof. Didi invited all administrators and members of Paguyuban Pasundan to strengthen faith and piety by fostering a clean mind and soul, love for Allah SWT, as well as getting closer to the teachings of the Koran.
“The presence of Prof. Miftah as a speaker, hopefully, would give us motivation and encouragement to improve religious values, so that we are able to become calm, peaceful individuals, and have a more meaningful meaning in life,” he said.
Prof. Dr. KH. Miftah Faridl, MA. Emphasized that the new year is not to be celebrated, but a moment of reflection or self-introspection. The new year should be filled with positive things, assessing personal shortcomings, measuring arrogance, and seeing the extent of worship.
“Look back what we all have done and what we should fix. Take advantage of our time as best as possible, because we do not know when death comes near us,” he said.
Furthermore, it is important for each individual to hurry to do good, get closer to God and see what needs to be planned in the future.
“Plan the movement, realize the shortcomings, prepare ourselves and optimize the potential to face 2022. We need to get ourselves better, more pious, outstanding and excellent. Of course, we are not allowed to forget to straighten our aqidah by continuing to build tolerance, foster brotherhood and spirit of mutual cooperation,” he concluded. (Reta)*
