BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Unpas Phass-I Selection Examination for the New Student Admission (Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru, PMB) will be held online on Sunday, April 25th, 2021. In order to make the examination run smoothly, Unpas holds a try-out test for the participants, both simultaneously and independently.
Unpas Vice Rector I as well Head of PMB committee, Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, SE., M.Si said that the pre-examination try out is to introduce the participants to the application used and to make them understand the type of material which will be tested.
“A simultaneous try-out is carried out in the limited interval at 13.00-15.00 WIB, while the independent one takes longer; an entire day through the night. Other than introducing examination application and type of questions, the try-out is supposed to the test the system,” he explained at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193, Bandung on Saturday (April 24th, 2021)
Meanwhile, the examination will be held through Unpas Learning Management System (LMS), starting from 08.00-12.00 WIB. Its access of LMS is opened an hour before the examination begins. The participants are expected to prepare themselves and are advised to log in alternately to avoid server down.
In doing the examination test, participants are recommended to use a computer device or laptop. If the use a smartphone, there would be a slight difference in the format, so that few question, especially those with the math equation or numbers, will not be able to be read properly.
“We recommend them to use a computer device or laptop, just to make it easier for them to do the exam. They could also use the smartphone, but it will be neither optimal nor comfortable. Some formats will not be able to be read properly,” he continued.
In this phase, the number of registrants increased up to 30% compared to the previous year which only reached 496 registrants. This year, it increased up to 632 registrants.
Unpas continues to do few anticipations so that during the exam there will be no system downs, a decrease in internet stability, and even power outages. Therefore, the participants are advised to attend the pre-examination try-out a day before to test the system reliability.
“If the web is accessed together in large numbers, it can be down. So, we suggest participants to take part in the try-out and at the same time see the system reliability test when many people go in and out of the web.” he said.
The participants also need to make sure their internet connection stable and use proper device. This is to anticipate the unexpected problems happen; like a sudden leave while the exam is still in progress.
“We want to provide our best service. At least, we could avoid or prevent any problems happen before the test begins. We hope the participants could pass the exam and make Unpas their choice to create their dream. The announcements of accepted participants can be seen on the PMB Unpas website. Insya Allah, on Monday afternoon,” he ended. (Reta Amaliyah S)*
