Before hitting the gong, the Rector gave his grateful speech, stating that in this pandemic condition of Covid-19, the amount of students did not decrease at all. On the other hand, there are a lot of universities whose new students drastically decrease.
Prof. Jaja Suteja also announced the 1st and 4000th student who registered to Unpas. The 1st registering student is Tatiana Aisyah (Student Number 203050001), from Faculty of Engineering and was graduated from Madrasah Aliya Al Huda 70, Pameungpeuk. She registered to Unpas in June 2nd, 2020, after being confirmed and passed the virtual test phase I. The 4000th registering student is Dhea Ayu Sekar Rini, from Department of State Administration and was graduated from SMA PGII-1. She registered to Unpas in October 1st, 2020.
The Rector appreciated the two students, especially to Tatiana Aisyah, who was the first student to register to Unpas. “The first registering student is student who have chosen Unpas from the very beginning. Therefore, I really appreciate her,” said the Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf.
The Rector also announced that at first Unpas experienced a very tough period in admitting new students in 2020 because the number was still less than it was expected before. “Until July 2020, the number was still under 1000 students. However, in August and September, the number rapidly increased. “The admission is like diesel machine; it gets hotter day by day,” he said.***
